Great option for GS mini and amazing pickup overall - you get the premium you pay for
I was surely skeptical about buying a pickup this expensive, but very unhappy with how my GS mini translated on live situations via the built in Taylor pickup.I am a bit of an acoustic guitar sound freak with multiple guitars, different pedals and I have other pickups with built in microphone which costed a fraction of what the Anthem costs (also have chinese Anthem copies - nothing like the original). With that said, you pay premium because it is a premium product. I use mine with a ZOOM AC3 acoustic creator, and WHAT A SOUND!!! Sounds amazing, I've never been nearly as satisfied with my plugged in sound as I am right now. It reproduces with great fidelity what the guitar sounds like acoustically. If you don't have any acoustic guitar pedal, get either the AC3 or AC2 to use with it. I have used the Fishman Aura Spectrum (one of the most expensive options) and nothing compares with the Zoom pedals in my opinion. For the GS mini the cleanest option is going for the SL option rather than the LR Baggs Anthem full version due to the size of the bracing inside the guitar, I have seen a video of someone using the full version but in my experience the installation would not fit (I did try one) or would look too odd with the danger of falling off.All in all, I have about 5 different acoustic guitars but since installing the LR Baggs Anthem SL on my GS mini, that's the choice every time (with the added bonus of the guitar being smaller and more portable).I plan on getting a Martin 000-15M Streetmaster in the future, and no doubt I'll have an Anthem in it. In fact, once you have experienced a natural acoustic guitar sound through PA it is very hard to go back, and you run into the danger of being a bit of a annoying purist... :D But I can't help it..A couple of things I wish I knew before buying it:Not all frequencies come from both sources (piezo and mic) - the Piezo gives you the lower frequencies and the mic more the high/meds - you can tweak where the split sits with the included adjusting tool. In my experience once you found the sweet spot, there will be no need to further ajust. The chinese copies don't work that way, both pickups do the same, which doesn't work as wellThe pickup has great feedback resistance, but at a cost - there are frequencies which are trimmed down to avoid feedback, so you don't get a full wide open frequency spectrum (meaning the sound is not 100% true to life what the guitar sounds like acoustically, however that's the closest you will get on any pickup system without constant live feedback, since you do have a condenser microphone sitting inside your guitar).

Superb Sounding Pickup
Very true to the sound of your guitar. This pickup seems intended to reproduce electronically what you hear in your instrument acoustically....and it succeeds beautifully. Put it together with a Baggs Para Acoustic D.I. and, provided you love the sound of your guitar, you will love what this combination can do with it. Install was easy, but you should know what you are doing to install the USP before you start drilling...best to get a pro to do it if you don't have experience.

Well thought Design and smart use of sound mechanics to develop a new breed of MIcrophone based pickups!
I purchased a used older Taylor 110e guitar. Though I liked the acoustic sound an the guitar played well, I really didn't like the included pickup.. I bought the Taylor to replace this Yamaha I used for many years that I bought in 2003. The pickup system in the Yamaha Had a microphone and I had really come a long way with Looping beats with my Looping pedal by recording different slaps and taps on the guitar. The microphone really allowed me to get a diverse set of percussive tones for this.. I did like the guitar quite a bit even though it was obvious that the microphone did experience Standing wave issues as well as Phase cancellation..I did much reading and found this pickup. It was relatively new. I took a chance on this version (This is a less expensive version of this pickup type) and have been extremely pleased.. The acoustic sound I get plugged in now is indeed more like my guitar unplugged and I will say that the design does allow for a higher gain before feedback.I think this pickup shines best when you are playing the guitar in a Solo or Duo act. I liked it so much, I bought a second one and put it in my less expensive acoustic Dreadnaught and as well, It made a mediocre guitar into a useful tool for playing out!I do recommend these pickups to many people..If you don't feel comfortable, have a luthier installed the pickup. I did install mine by myself but have some experience doing this sort of work and don't mind trying new things.. The directions were clear and concise.. I did need to use some stronger double sided tape to hold the microphone to the bridge plate.Best of all, it does really seem to prevent the issues of "Standing Waves" with it's design..I like soundboard transducers as well but really thought this was a good alternative..I will say though that it doesn't quite give me the same audio response on the back and sides of my guitar as I used to get with the Yamaha system (and "Body Noise" was actually a complaint for most people on my old Yamaha model but for my style of looping, it was really a plus) but enough to still allow me to get usable tones and the positive thing is that I have less feedback issues..

Easy install
I bought this and installed in my Martin d16 it was a very straightforward installation and it sounds great I use it playing live music often and it has never let me down, next time I think I would prefer to spend the extra money and get the anthem with the blend knob so I could easily turn up true mic for certain songs and sounds. All aside it sounds great the guitar comes through the speakers sounding the same as it does unplugged
