Can you use these to add foil to canvas? Or do they only work on smooth surfaces (paper etc)?

I'm sure it could be used on canvas, but it would not be smooth unbroken lines.

Do i need a cricut machine to use the pens? do all 3 pens have usb connectors?

No you do not. These are freestyle. While they do still need an USB port. So the heat for the transfer can be generated.

Can they be used for silhouette cameo 4?
