Unnatural scented, skin irritating product
I tried my best to use it, impossible... it’s beyond acceptance scented... irritating and totally unpleasant.

Works well to promote skin cell renewal to combat aging without all the skin irritation
Over the years, I've used a bunch of Mychelle products and have found some that I really like and others that I felt had little to offer. Their retinal serum is one of the ones that I really like and use daily. For many years, I've used retinoic acid (Retin-A) with a prescription from my dermatologist. It's strong and offers big results in skin cell renewal, but I get frustrated with how drying it is to my skin, the occasional redness and/or peeling with overuse, and the very heightened sensitivity to sun. I'll still occasionally use the prescription strength, but most of the time I've chosen to use retinoid products that are less aggressive on my face. That's what I like about Mychelle's Remarkable Retinal Serum--it feels more gentle on my skin and doesn't seem to cause any extreme issues with sun sensitivity (although I still try to avoid sun exposure and the product labeling recommends it). At first, I doubted that this retinal would be that effective in cell turnover since any of the non-prescription retinoid products I'd tried previously had seemed ineffective to me. But I've found that my skin really does well with this one. I use it every evening before bedtime and, per the instructions, wait at least 30 minutes after applying it before I then apply my nighttime moisturizer or cream. While it doesn't produce the same results as a prescription-strength retinol for me, it still works as well or better than any non-prescription retinal/retinol product that I've tried. If you noticed the spelling of this product, you'll see that it's 'retinal' (with an 'a') rather than the 'retinol' that is contained in most non-prescription brands. Retinal is a short name for Retinaldehyde and is supposed to be a closer version to the prescription retinoic acid.Mychelle's retinal serum is a fairly vivid yellow color and I find the smell of it to be sort of weird (but I don't notice it after it's absorbed into my skin). I've purchased several bottles from a local health store, but was pleased to see a lower price on Amazon. I always worry a bit about counterfeits with online orders, but what I received was the real deal.I like that Mychelle products are made without GMOs, Gluten, Parabens, Petroleum, Phthalates, Silicones, Sulfates, Ureas, Artificial Fragrances, and Artificial Colors. Their skincare line is vegan and produced in a cruelty-free testing environment.

Great for acne and hyperpigmentation!
Best OTC retinoid serum for acne and hyperpigmentation!! I absolutely love it. Gentle formula, no irritation. Thanks to the ceramides in the formula, does not make your face feel dry or tight... If you have oily skin, you can even get away with not applying moisturizer (don't recommend that though). No pore clogging ingredients whatsoever. And really makes a significant difference in toning down redness and hyperpigmentation after breakouts. I used this along with a mandelic acid serum (and diet) to clear up my adult acne. It worked really well. Then, I switched to a different serum and tried it out... The other serum had azaleaic acid, niacinamide, and granactive retinoid... It was supposed to be so great... But it did not do as well as this serum. My skin would get very dry and I found that my skin was still having little clogs, I think it was due to the cetearyl alcohol in that serum... Which, in theory shouldn't really be a big deal, but does have a comedogenic rating of two, and if you're acne prone, that may not be a risk you want to take. Most other serums have ingredients like this that can potentially cause some pore clogging. Not this one! And, although the ingredients in the other serum should have helped, that serum did not help as much with the redness, hyperpigmentation, or breakouts.I ordered this and started back on it again, and literally after the FIRST night of using it again, I woke up and noticed a significant reduction in the red post acne marks on my face. I was shocked and looked up some of the ingredients, and apparently honeysuckle extract is supposed to reduce hyperpigmentation, be anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial. Also, eucalyptus oil can increase collagen production... And then also the gluconolactone is a gentle hydroxy acid. So this formula really is potent, and I found that the ingredients are actually much more effective than ingredients in other serums, without clogging my pores and keeping me in the breakout cycle. This is a serum that consistently makes my face look better when I wake up in the morning after using it. I noticed that my skin looks firmer (I'm 36 I'm just starting to have a bit of looseness in the skin), clearer, and more even toned in the morning. AND the ingredients are clean and naturally derived. Will not be switching to another serum again. This one is perfect, and I'm glad they dropped the price on it also! Well worth every penny.

Very nice find: a 1% retinaldehyde product with a great ingredient profile
I'm very happy with my purchase and have subscribed to MyChelle's Remarkable Retinal product line. This has easily become one of the top serums in my routine. I'd put it up there in importance with my Strivectin peptide set. It works beautifully, better than retinol and without the drying, leathery look of retinol. I've never used retinal before, and I understand that it's stronger than retinol but less drying & stressful for the skin. I've had wonderful results with this moderately priced product. I hope they keep making this for a long time, because I can't imagine going back to retinol after having such great results with MyChelle's retinal line. I was getting so fed up with dry, leathery skin from using retinol that I was going to drop using retinoids altogether. Avene makes a $70 retinal serum, but with only a fraction of the amount of retinal that the MyChelle products contain. Thank you for this product!
