The mat is okay. It was less expensive and I didn't think about the reasons why that would be the case. Upon arrival it seemed fine and looked fine. It is only after putting it down and putting your office chair upon it for a period of time, that one finds out (unless you are just a little person - and I am not a little person, but certainly not huge) that your weight will leave indentations in the mat under the chair casters. Then when you wish to move the chair around at all - like every time you get up or sit - you have to push or pull a bit to move it out of the ruts. My guess is that other products that cost a bit more may be thicker and avoid this problem. The mat I replaced I had had for many years and it wore out due to cracking with age. I am guessing that won't be the case with this one, but hopefully I am wrong. It's still early as I have only had it for a few weeks.

Not sure why no one is mentioning the smell. I had to remove mine from the room and put it in the garage. Not sure if it will be useable or not, I will update my review later. I have very thick carpet as well and it wasn’t laying flat, maybe it will over time, if the smell goes away and I can put it back in my house?

I like the soft vinyl, which may be more resilient than solid plastic. However, the vinyl has a toxic smell that gave me headaches. Finally, I aired the product for several days outdoors. That reduced the smell. Think before you buy this product. Do you have allergic reactions to certain chemical smells?

When I looked at this item, I was not sure whether to purchase it, based on reviews, including comments about the difficulty to FLATTEN the mat. However, once it arrived, I found it pretty easy to flatten it. Pull it out of the box, unroll the mat and immediately put something heavy on one end of the mat and on the other end I simply set my chair at the other end of the mat. By morning the mat was flat. (It is a bit tough when removing from the shipping box and unrolling the mat...but no big deal). Very satisfied, especially for the price I paid.

Hello reader,This mat does its job and definitely assists in rolling on my carpet with my office chair in comparison to just rolling around on the new carpet. I probably should have obtained a mat that had longer studs to help with the mat's sturdiness and prevent my chair's wheels from creating shallow divots in the mat--good news is that they don't last. The mat is durable enough to bounce back to its flat self. The maneuverability of the mat is great until my chair's wheels catch the shallow divots.As a head's up to new purchasers, especially on a cooler day, allow the mat to warm up to room temperature and sloooowly unroll the mat. Once uncurled, place the chair onto the mat to prevent it from curling back up, the mat is quite stiff. Once the mat is fully extended and unrolled, it will become nice and flat as you would expect. Allowing it to warm up will not only help with the unrolling, but also prevent cracking.All-in-all, it is a good mat that gets the job done!

I recently replaced my new carpet, but when I sat down on my computer chair I can hardly move my chair, so I went on amazon and search for a chair mat, i stumble into this one, I am glad I purchase this one, it didn’t take that long to arrived, it came in a roll form, I have to unrolled it, it wasn’t hard to do it. Because of the studs on one side it really grips to the carpets, and it made rolling with ease, and the price is affordable for my budget, and the surface area is large enough to roll around. It’s a good product to have if you’re in the market for one.

The appearance of the chair mat is fine. However, it doesn't hold tight to the carpet and moves out of place.It is difficult to move the chair around on it. I bought one from a different maker and had the same problem. I have 2 chair mats that I bought years ago at Walmart for $20.00 each that are still going strong. Unfortunately, they don't have them anymore. I needed new ones for chairs at different work tables in my craft room. I am disappointed and left with a poor product. They need to make these out of harder plastic and ship them flat instead of rolled up.
