I am pleased with my adlens adjustable eyeglasses
Excellent eyeglasses. I love this idea that you can adjust the glasses yourself and now I wonder why was this technology not in use before, as also in binoculars, one can adjust the focus oneself. They have worked well for me, in reading and in long distances, to recognize the bus number from afar. I am very pleased

The lens material they use is not very good quality and it reflects light a lot so driving or watching tv with them is difficult. I use them only if I am in a bind because of the quality of the lenses and the positioning of the frame, they are not easy to see out of. I would not recommend them.

Not ready for prime time
I'm sorry, but this item is not at all ready for prime time and really only deserves 1.5 stars. I don't hate them, I just don't like them. I do think the idea is clever, but these guys are not ready for prime time. At best, my left eye (my poor eye) somewhat works with this system, but no matter what, my right eye is blurry, both near and far. I keep them around for emergencies, but all in all, they were a waste of money and I'm sorry I bought them. I must say that I had great hopes for these glasses, but the reality of how they actually perform has left me greatly disappointed and wishing I could have tried them first. No wonder you don't see them in stores and that should have warned me. If you buy them, keep your expectations low.

Updated March 2019, the good and the not so good
March 2019 update - two years ago i had to replace my mother's readers saw these and gave them a shot. at first they appeared to work out okay for her but i noticed over time she wasn't wearing them? instead she was using her old busted up readers this was to replace? at first she commented that she couldn't get the focusing right. i tried and tried to help but never got it to where she wanted. also there are no markings on the dials to adjust so you just keep turning one way or another and guessing at where you are. then she added that for her they just weren't comfortable. final straw was they were so easily scratched. even giving her my eyeglass cloths somehow minuscule particles got in and scored up the lenses after a couple uses?for some individuals depending on the situation these might well be a good option. however for ours not so much. i have since gone to getting her multi-packs of reading glasses so there is always a good spare on hand. i wouldn't purchase these again based on our experience alone.

Good Value
Nice... excellent value and comfortable to wear. Be careful though... They seem rather fragile.

Put them on. Dial them in. Crystal clear vision. They are working perfectly for my friend post-cataract surgery.
Got as a gift for my friend who just had cateracts in both eyes removed. She cannot use her glasses anymore but also cannot get new glasses yet. She must wait a month while her eyes settle. Her vision is still a bit blurry... just blurry enough to impair watching TV and driving. These variable focus glasses saved the day! Or rather, saved the month! She can do both of those things with these glasses because they bring everything into focus for her. She says she wouldn't drive across country with them because she might get tired but she certainly could do it if needed. She likes that they sit high up so when she looks down they aren't in the way of reading (she can read sans glasses). My friend also has macular degeneration and another big benefit is that when she put on these glasses, dialed them in and everything came into crisp focus... she was relieved to see that the post-surgery blurryness is correctable rather than not correctable due to the macular degeneration. These saved her from more than a month of worrying.

You get what you pay for, or less in this case.
Well, since my dog ate a pair of my $500 Essilor Interview lens prescription glasses, I thought I would give these a try. I was able to get the right eye in focus, but not the left eye. That makes three attempts at a cheap solution. Normal reading glasses don't give any flexibility in focal distance, and these remind me of the time I was eight years-old and responded to an ad in some magazine promising me a submarine for $6.95. If you want a pair of glasses, go to an optician, get yourself examined, and ask for Essilor Interview lenses.

Great concept, horrible follow through
Great concept, horrible follow through. Was using these as a temporary solution for glasses until I could get mine replaced. I got them dialed in to my exact prescription, but could still not see well enough to drive home or see what I needed at work. They are decent quality product- decent plastic, mostly sturdy. Maybe if you have a very slight prescription, this may work for you. These have since been thrown away because I couldn’t even find a friend they would work for.
