Discover Your Dharma: A Vedic Guide to Finding Your Purpose : Rose, Sahara: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: THE BOOK YOUR SOUL NEEDS!! - I have only just finished reading the first two chapters of this book and honestly, just WOW!! I wanted to write a review once I'd finished but there have been so many points where I've just wanted to gush about how good it is!! I don't know why it took my so long to buy and read this book but all I know is I obviously wasn't in a place to receive this information. But, now? I feel like the universe guided me to finding this book and reminding me to read it because everything that I have read so far is PRECISESLY what I needed to hear and remember. I can relate to soooo much of this book, particularly Sahara's past challenges with family and expectations, it has really helped me reconsider my own experiences with family. So much of what I've read is deeply healing and therapeutic. I'm usually a really fast reader but this book is making me want to slow down and re-read parts multiple times because it quite honestly makes me feel good and makes my soul so happy. The messages and wisdom are so beautifully written and as I said, so much of the content is relatable. When I finally received the book and posted it on my Instagram account, the number of women who reached out and said this was their favourite book and they're so excited for me to read it, that made me EVEN MORE excited! I can totally see why they speak so highly of it and I'm so looking forward to reading more and getting stuck in with all the journaling prompts. I'm so grateful this book found me when it did and I can't recommend it enough to anyone who has always wanted more from life, for themselves and to really understand what we're here for. There are so many complex messages and ideas on every single page but it's so playful and easy to follow, it's fun! It absolutely embodies Sahara and her mission and really makes living an enlightened life accessible for all. I've loved what I've read so much that I've bought the audiobook on Audible too - it really makes me feel like I'm receiving wisdom from the author herself and Sahara's voice is sooo soothing and motivating. Will keep you posted with my thoughts but it has already exceeded my expectations and they were already high!! Review: This book is THE book of 2021! - In this book Sahara tackles the big issues around purpose, why many people believe they can’t live their purpose- you can’t make money doing what you love, only certain people get to live their purposes, most of us have to just get a stable job and be realistic - and tears them to shreds. She shares the uncomfortable truth that you are not meant to feel stuck and stressed in your life, but not only does she share that this is possible, she shares the practical ways you lead yourself out of this dreaded place, from honouring your curiosities and reflecting on your life experiences and figuring out your dharma archetypes to find on your dharma, as well as powerful embodiment practices to help stay aligned with your dharma. This book is full of real talk- everyone is nervous and scared of failure, but the secret of successful people is that they do it anyway. “Your fear of failure is guaranteeing your failure”. Sahara shares stories of her own adversities of health and life and other people she’s interviewed and about how damaging it is to your body, mind, heart and soul, and a disservice to the world, not to be living your dharma. One line I could relate to massively- “by societal standards I had nothing, no job no security no stability but on the inside I had met a part of myself that I didn’t even know existed and I wasn’t going to let her go”. This book is also full of journal prompts to reflect on your own life, really explore who you are and how you show up in the world. To reflect on your life experiences and the experiences of your parents, grandparents and ancestors and find meaning in them. To own the things you are most ashamed of, as Sahara says.. ‘when we own our stories, we are no longer bound by them.’ Sahara doesn’t spoon feed you the answers, she guides you to find them yourself. ‘Discover your Dharma’ explains thousands year old concepts from the Vedic texts of India. These concepts are older than us and Sahara doesn’t try to claim them as her own, but then she also adds her unique voice to be able to communicate these concepts to the current situation of the western world, unemployment levels, mental health and suicide rates high, many people disconnected from themselves. She explains the concepts of Dharma and Ayurveda respectfully to the traditions, but also accessible to the modern reader who is trying to find their purpose but may not be familiar with the Vedic texts. For someone who spent her whole life confused and overwhelmed, on the continuous journey of searching for meaning, this book helped me break down more of the many self limiting beliefs that I had been carrying. She helped me realise feeling confused doesn’t mean i’m broken or I’m failing, as Sahara says, that not being able to predict the future isn’t a bad thing, “it’s better to not know where you’re going than to go in the wrong direction.” This is exactly how I feel right now about my life. We say we are searching for happiness but I don’t think we are, I think we are searching for purpose. Sahara knows this. Again Sahara brings us a wonderful book that I can safely say anybody who is human will benefit from. This book isn’t just for the dreamers, it’s for anyone who wants to feel like they belong and that they are needed. Because we all are. And it’s a travesty that many of us can’t see that. This book came at the perfect time for me, quitting my job and launching my business and writing my book. I needed this so much, it was medicine. Thank you. Sahara thank you for everything you do for this world <3

Be prepared to GLOW into the best version of yourself.
I read first chapter of this book last night and I LOVE it. Honestly, I am so excited to read more and i have already recommended it to my book club book. It has little mini challenges/questions for you to answer throughout and it is very well written in an uplifting and positive way that’s easy to understand. It has some very strong points that make you sit up and think. There were so many lines and verses that made me stop in my tracks and re-read so that it fully sank in what Sahara was saying and the lesson was truly grasped. I have had so many a-ha moments already and I am only 1 chapter in. I truly believe that a lot of people will benefit from this book. It appears to be about finding your own purpose, your own value, loving yourself and growing into your truest and best version of yourself, living the life you were created to live! Super super lovely book! Thank you so much Sahara for such an incredible book, I am so excited to continue this journey. xxx

This is definitely the best book I have read this year. There is so much wisdom in this book. I couldn’t put it down. Sahara is amazing at sharing ancient knowledge in a modern and relatable way. Reading this book I felt seen, understood and I discovered so much about myself that I did not know before. I am so grateful that I got this book and I could not recommend it enough. Thank you!

I do admit being a fan of everything Sahara Rose has written. She knows, in an accessible and honest way, because she is true to herself, to bring old or non-Western knowledge back to the attention. This book is far from vague or woolly. If you are new to this subject, Sahara knows how to put it into words in simple language and with practical assignments, tests and reflections, so that you can actually do something with it! Not only do you want to read about it, but you also want to discover your dharma/purpose, right? But also if you, like me, already know more about your dharma then this book offers many new insights through the Vedic approach. This will be a book that I will read over and over again. Through the podcast of Sahara and her website you will also get a lot of extra goodies and in-depth information about the dharma/purpose theme. Highly recommended! Buy the book for yourself or to give away as a gift. At this moment many people have lost their way because of the events surrounding the pandamic time . This book, the (re)discovering of what you really like, your dharma, your purpose, can really help you find your happiness. Because the more people can start living from their dharma/purpose, the more people will be happy, the more beautiful the world will become!

This is a true page turner, every page is filled with so many profound quotes that I found myself re-reading and highlighting several paragraphs. I love that through filling out questionaires and Dharmic personality tests it immediately prompts you to reflect on your own life, exploring who you are, breaking limiting beliefs and helping you shape your purpose for this one precious journey. I feel it is a book I would come back to whenever I feel slightly off path. Truly glad I found this book and recommend it to everyone who wants to get to know themselves deeply.

I am a psychology student who has done a lot of work with trauma healing, personality studies, and trying to find out who the F I am. Stumbling over this book, I was sceptical to say the least. A lot of times, people who write the word Spiritual on their social flag are a little too disengaged from reality, especially in the sense that what they don't want to look at systematically lands under the rug... 'cause it's "not high vibe" or whatever. Like trauma, their feelings, racism or all that jazz. NOT SO THIS BOOK!!! Like, for real, people. This is wisdom as it SHOULD be. Connected, truthful, HELPFUL, integrative, holistic, real. Real life, too. This isn't dry mental masturbation over a bass line of "I heard ancient people believed in that shit, too, and I don't question it whatsoever." This is lived, alive, and integrated into the world we live in... and also a technique that stayed alive for a really long time for a damn good reason. Which she explains, lives, and which pretty much every human being can feel within them if they take a second to let things sink in. What I also love about this book is that, UNLIKE most spiritual stuff I've stumbled on, the general belief behind this book is that every part of what makes humans human - ego, body, mind, whatever - is inherently right and here for a reason. She builds on again, systems of thought that survived a long time for a good reason, as well as new scientific and psychological wisdom and techniques that are both really helpful, and easy to use. This is the real deal, and the very purpose of this book isn't that some guru type being tells us who we are, but to give us the tools to figure it out ourselves, the framework to do so quickly and safely, the community to show us we aren't alone on a sometimes lonely path, and the strength to take that knowledge and go rogue with it - safely, for us. It seriously is a masterpiece on all those levels. What I also love is, she walks her talk. She has a really funny, this-world language that cracks me up and makes sense (and stays in your mind). She's a positive force of nature. And the entire tone of the book is a wonderful, truthful, "Okay, people: I love you, I care about you, but let's take that bs and throw it in the bin, you KNOW this is crap, and I know you know it too." All in all, reading it makes my soul sing and is so helpful. It is also very energizing, fun and easy to read, and I'm already making a list of people who will get this as their birthday present. Thank you, Sahara! I for sure recommend this.
