The mask is WAY sturdier than I thought it would be, and the effect is great (I used it at a costume party and it went over like gangbusters).But the mask has a MAJOR design flaw: the alignment of the straps pull the mask UP to your face and not AGAINST it. As a result, the mask is constantly crushing and pressing your nose up into your head, rather than resting snugly alongside of it. It was extremely uncomfortable, and I couldn't wear it for more than a few minutes at a time before having to remove it. I suppose the problem could be remedied with some kind of gel inserts alongside the nose area, but you'd have to install/adhere them yourself and it wouldn't alleviate the pressure.

I ordered this expecting a cheap, plastic mask that would look okay on the shelf as a conversation piece but that's about it. I was surprised when it came at how well made it is. The material is a very solid thick polymer of some kind and the straps and buckles are high quality. This mask has some weight to it and feels and looks like some outdated restraint device straight out of some creepy old sanitarium.The mask is not built for comfort, at least not for my face, so I'm not sure if you'd want to wear it all evening as part of your Hannibal Lector costume. I imagine it could be modified to fit better and I actually intend to try using a heat gun to form it to my face a little better. I only hope I don't ruin it.

I bought this mask as a novelty/collector item, being a fan of the Silence of the lambs/ Hannibal movies and TV series. The picture shows this item as brown, which I thought I could live with, even if it wasn't a spot-on match to the movies. The actual product I received was more of an orange color. It was so "off looking" that when I got it out of the package, it honestly didn't register as to what the item was; it bore no resemblance whatsoever to the item I had ordered, and literally took me about five seconds to figure out what the thing was. I figure I'll get around to customizing it with paint, but I would have never purchased the item if I had realized that it was more 'orangey' looking than anything.Don't waste your money.

Very accurate to the film, unfortunately the size as well… this mask is meant to be to people with big head, normal o small face people cannot use this, the mask is too big on the upper sides. I recommend the manufacturer make a smaller size model. Also the pain in the nose in others reviews is true, the nose section is too flat even for a normal/almost tiny nose.

Bought this for my Halloween costume. It was extremely uncomfortable and left a deep and painful red line along the bridge of my nose. If I loosened it to keep it from hurting my nose, it wouldn't stay on and kept sliding off. Looked good for the little time I managed to keep it on though.

Well made and accurate, bought a couple of these for a film we made and several were not well made or accurate. A bit harsh on the face for a long period of time, but great fun...

I absolutely love this mask, was a long wait for it to come but its worth it you have make this fan of the movies and the TV series very happy.Cheers.

This mask broke when my son tried to tighten the strap around his head. We ended up using super glue to glue it and it broke again during his party. Cheaply made junk!
