Dhokra is one of the earliest metal casting technique in human civilization that has been practiced for over 4000 years and is still practiced by very few aboriginal tribes of India. It stands out from other 'Lost-Wax' techniques because current process of creating Dhokra is traditional, all the steps are done by hands, and uses completely natural and unconventional resources. All 'Rustic Mango' products are Dhokras made by 'Dhokra Damar' tribe. It is truly amazing how 'Dhokra Damar' tribe has nurtured and owned a primitive art form for generations despite being economically and socially marginalized and not completely connected with the mainstream society.
