Got 2 and Bangs. 2020 F150.
These SUBS HIT – Great Upgrade for My F-150!I bought a used 2020 Ford F-150 with no premium sound, and needed something to bring the music to life. Started with one 8" sub in a sealed box powered by an RP 800.1D amp (I went with the white marine version—looks clean). It was decent at 4 ohms, but after 20 years away from the audio scene, I knew I needed more.I added a second 8" dual 2-ohm Skar sub and dropped the load to 2 ohms using their prefabbed ported box. WORLD of difference. This setup absolutely hits—tight, clean, and loud for 8s. I double-checked everything on the Skar website to make sure it all matched up, and the results speak for themselves. My dad enjoys the deeper sound, my wife loves the added fullness to the music, and most importantly—my 17-year-old son now begs to drive my truck just for the system.Install was easy, the box fits perfectly under the rear seat and looks factory. Multiple people have seen it and couldn’t believe it wasn’t stock. This sub, amp, and box combo slaps no matter what genre you play.If you're looking for solid bass fill and don’t want to break the bank, this setup is 100% worth it. I’ve been running it daily for over 4 months—2 hours a day, high power—and it’s still going strong.

A lot of base in a small package
This 8" sub thumps. I was surprised 😮 by the base. I needed something small to fit in my 1988 Suzuki Samurai tailgate box. This did the trick. Amazon delivered fast.

Great low profile sub
Very happy fits in a wrangler factory infinity sub box with a half inch spacer. Sounds great just doesnt hit as deep as a 10 or 12 but thats what you get with a shallow 8.

90's basshead approved. Heavy subs! Love at first slam! Breathed life into an old enclosure
Retrofit into an 90's super cheap $20 box, 1/3 cu ft ported, works pretty darn good. I bought this box in Juarez and had to hoof it back across the border looking like a smuggler. Border agents made me take it apart which was annoying. Like I had it full of a kilo or something.Replaced a pair of likely rare and mostly alright Sony 3-way parabolic dish 8" speakers seen in pics. Absolutely no comparison to the Skar subs, no way at all.Would definitely slam nicely at higher power levels sealed, and I'm afraid of killing something with the current 1.5" x 5" ports if I crank it as-is. Holy smokes this thing hits the lows! No it's not making my eyes blurry with bass but I can actually fit other things behind the seats (extended cab Toyota) AND lean the seat back too.Currently powered by an also-90's LA Sound Hermosa 2 channel at 100w/4 ohms per speaker, -each sub wired in series. Very sensitive subs despite their 83 db rating. Loud at low volume if that matters to you, especially on the lowest notes. Bass Invaders CD sounds great on these bad boys.Did have to open up the box a bit with a rotary sanding drum mounted in a drill but no biggie. Only biggie is the sound coming out of these! Have to take care not to hurt my hearing because that's a real concern. Glad I finally pulled the trigger, they're a marvel of modern manufacturing and probably better than the old Lanzar and Cerwin Vega stuff I lusted after at West Coast Sound in Albuquerque as a kid.Tough too, I had the box on its back, speakers pointing up and had the heavy sleeping bag in the first pic fall on one of the cones! I thought I'd crunched the dust cap for sure, it made a bad sound, but nothing was hurt. Built like a tank.Did I mention these are awesome?

Pretty good, not perfect
So not the most AMAZING sounding sub I've ever had. Similar in sound quality to the Kicker comp r, but more power. Lower sound quality than Deaf Bonce, but able to fit in small enclosures. HOWEVER, the basket it WIDE. I had to modify my box to get it to fit.

Great product
The media could not be loaded. People are sleeping on these just cause of the brand, you'll just need a good tuned box and a good amp. Got myself 2 8's on some old school bazookas and man these babies bang!!! Worth the price

Long story
Ok so, The past few years Ive been running two 12" kickers in my little toyota pickup in custom built boxes and it was everything I could do to fit them into the truck. I did though, at the cost of leg room. I finally decided to go with two of these 8" subs from Skar so I can get my grown up leg room back. Im glad I did!!!All I can say is WOW!!!Two of these little 8" subs in my little 86 toyota puts out more/harder bass than my two 12s ever did and I have them hooked up to the same amp as the 12s were hooked to. AMAZING!!!The best part is now I have enough room left over that I can install two more so Ill be running 4-8"subs and Im picking up a ;larger amp from Skar also. Im sure two more of these are going to tear my little toy to pieces but.....WOW!Remember back when I was in high school? I had a pioneer 120w amp that would make your ears bleed and now, it takes 1800w amps to do the same thing.I guess it doesnt matter, they still cost about the same as in the 80s.If your on the fence about getting these speakers,DO IT!!!!they are worth every penny!Update. Two months later I've had a dilemmaI've got these 4-vd8s wired down to 1ohm and they are sharing an rp800.1 amp from skar. The speakers wired in the manner I had them should handle 1200 watts RMS but the 800 watt amp took 3 woofers out. Either the amp is pushing way harder than advertised or the subs can't take what they claim. Don't get me wrong, I was pounding asphalt to dust when my thump started turning to a whomp and slowly started getting weaker and weaker the days afterward. I've ordered EVLs to replace them and I'll bump it up to an RP1200.1 when funds allow.
