Nice product, quality shows
This cable glides easily into the cable housing and appears high quality compared with the usual cable. Might be good in situations where you have an unusual amount of cable housing to go through, such as in an older bike--will cut down resistance and not corrode or rust.

Good cables
These Aztec cables work pretty well for the price. They're reasonably low friction and are similar to more expensive cables. Also, they're the only Teflon coated cables that I found on Amazon that were eligible for free Prime shipping.

Perfect for the job.
What can I say- I checked reviews for a number of different brake cables, decided that I wanted PTFE coating, but didn't want to pay a fortune. This cable fit the bill, and appear to be good quality. I have been using it for about four months. No sign of stretching, just seem to be excellent cables that do what they are supposed to, and at a reasonable price.Update: 11 months later, the first cable that I had installed snapped, without warning. Less than one year of use is not good enough.

love these
Great cables. Cheap and work awesome.Just make sure you measure twice before you cut. The cable will definitely fray a lot when you cut it a second time.To make sure the Teflon doesn't chip and the cable fray when you cut it, put some scotch tape where you are going to cut. Then take your run of the mill diagonal side cutters (dikes) and cut away.

Worth the cost over traditional cables
They are smoother than traditional cables. This is a good thing obviously. But the best part is they barely stretch. You don't have to pre-stretch or keep adjusting. Worth it to me since it's still cheaper than when I would have the LBS do my cables.

Potentially unsafe!
My original brake cable ($400 Gary Fisher mntn bike, purchd 1993) lasted 17 years (cantilever system--Shimano Alivio, which is Shimano's BUDGET line). That was roughly 6000 miles, about 2000 of which was in Northern Ohio (with snow and salt).I replaced that cable with on same bike (but just the front brakes as the originals FINALLY broke) about 3.5yrs ago (or roughly 800mi every-third-day commuting ... in So. Calif. well away from water or salty ocean), with a SUPPOSED top-grade laminated cable (AZTEC PTFE) + new housing (from Performance Bikes).Last October (2013), during an emerg. hard stop, the front cable snapped, creating a very dangerous (but fortunately recoverable) situation. It snapped CLEANLY right at the anchor bolt. (see image above)Hard to say what caused the cable to snap ... some have suggested that newer cables are not meant for "older" braking systems???If you have any ideas, please leave a helpful reply ... thanks!

Good quality, good price
I am pleased with this cable. It is strong, well coated and welded at the end for easy insertion. I continue to stock these in my saddle bags because they are good, cheap and come with minimal packaging.

I'd buy them again
Used these on my mom's 90's model Diamondback Lakeside Hybrid. They communicate the "STOP" command from XLC 4-finger alloy v-brake levers to a set of Shimano Acera V-Brakes... and they do a good job.
