Q: How many cr123a batteries will it hold? guessing 2 but i don't see any indication in the description.

The Thyrm CellVault-18 Battery Storage holds two CR123s. If you were looking for a CR123 storage solution, we designed the original CellVault Battery Storage for that. The original CellVault holds three CR123s. The CellVault-18 was designed to fit rechargeable 18650s and 18350s, but still fits CR123s.

Q: Is a spacer needed when storing two 18350 batteries so that they don't touch?

You can certainly add a spacer if you would like, but if you orient the batteries so they are in opposing directions (+/-, -/+), there should not be a risk of current passing from one to the other. Some people put some tape over the terminal ends so create a gap as well. In our testing, we did not observe evidence of batteries discharging that were oriented +/-, +/-.

Q: Can these hold 16650 rechargable?

Yes, a 16650 should fit in a CellVault-18.
