I purchased this 2-pack of whistles—one for my son to carry when he goes hiking and the other one for my daughter who often works late and walks to her car in the dark. These are excellent LOUD whistles, great quality and the lanyards make them convenient to carry. I’m ordering another 2-pack, one to utilize in training our puppy and I’ll put one in our emergency preparedness kit. A simple, inexpensive item with so many uses—every household needs these!

I've been wanting a good quality whistle to use when I hike with my dogs. I never really mastered being able to do one of those ear-splitting whistles that others do so I had to buy a whistle instead. This whistle is perfect for my needs. I keep it to attached to my pack and it's easy to grab when I need it. It's loud enough that my dogs can hear it quite well and they respond to it instantly. Money well spent,

This small whistle is very loud!Pros: - Its compact size makes it great for using while hiking, biking, or any outdoor activity.I like the fact that it is made out of aluminum and even comes with a lanyard. - Shipping was fast and had a pleasant experience with the seller.Cons: - On the downside, while the whistle can be ear-splittingly loud, its just that; ear-splittingly loud. The sound reverberates directly into your eardrums because the bevel of the whistle is pointed directly at the user.Overall, I give this whistle (set of whistles, to be precise) 4/5 stars: 4 stars for the quality of the aluminum, small form factor, and very loud whistle sound (since the loud whistle can hurt your ears, I deducted one star). For $8 it is a little overpriced, but you do get two whistles in the package, which is nice.

We have an issue with coyotes on Aquidneck Island - they've been around for a very long time and are very brazen. I bought this whistle as a quick and easy deterent should the need arise. Happy to have two whistles included in this purchase. Gave one to my daughter. We have yet to use them and will update this review should we encounter a coyote. But also, because we walk our dogs late at night it might come in handy should we be approached by anything or anyone unsavory. We shall see. Good quality!

Small whistles with a loud sound.

These are well made and should last. They are made from an aluminum alloy, anodized for a nice finish. They have no moving parts and should last over time. There is really nothing to break or wear. They are dual chambered so they are actually two whistles in one. Both chambers produce the same frequency tone. Overall though I don't think these are very loud. Typical whistles used by sports referees or traffic cops are much louder. These are also a very high pitch which might make it difficult for older persons to hear.
