Perfect for Garmin Express GPS/Dashcam
Just what I needed for my Garmin Express GPS/Dashcam. Hangs perfectly from my rearview mirror. Wish I knew about this last year.

Does not work with my Garmin GPS
Does not work for my Garmin GPS. The mount is not long enough to mount under my mirror.

Not for Garmin GPS
This product was supposed to be so that I could mount a GPS unit under my mirror. Not only does this mount not fit under the mirror, but it cannot support the weight of a 4 1/2 inch small device that's only about 1/2 inch thick. Waste of money to buy, and even more hassle to return to get a couple dollars back.

Works for mounting Garmin dash cams
I bought this to mount a Garmin Tandem dash cam in my Chevy Bolt. It came with all the shown parts plus a few extra ball connectors, an extra wing nut and a set of shorter screws for mounting if appropriate. From eyeing the Garmin 17 mm ball connector and the ones (two of different lengths) supplied with the kit, they look identical. When actually attaching it to the dash cam the ball seemed like it might be just slightly larger, but I'm not sure. In any case, it did connect without any real issues, and I was confident that the connection was robust. For me, the mount didn't work out, but mostly because the Chevy Bolt has a very large housing on the windshield containing multiple sensors, and I couldn't find a position I liked for the cam to get a good front view while also being unobtrusive in the cabin. If the Bolt was like many cars without that large sensor system, it would have been fine. Attaching it to the mirror post was a bit tricky due to lack of working space, but not really a big issue. All the components are sufficiently sturdy that I had no concerns about long-term reliability. But, if I was continually removing and reattaching the cam to the mount, it is certainly possible that the plastic components could eventually fail. So, I think it is a decent kit that will work for Garmin products that use a 17 mm ball attachment and will work well for many vehicles.

Works great for Kenwood camera
Seems to hold everything in place nicely. I use the rubber strap that came with it to put on the mounting ball from the Kenwood camera and we're good.

Good idea, better execution would make it great!!!
Concept is great however, I needed to modify it with my broken GPS mount to get it to work. My GPS was unable to be used because it was facing downward and also was blocking my mirror. After I took apart my old GPS mount and added an extra pivot point and little more length was able to get it to sit the way I wanted and be able to utilize my GPS along with the mirror and be able to dim the mirror at night. Overall with needing some modifications to work it is a lot better than using a suction cup and it falling off the window and leaving those annoying marks on the window.

There are better ways to do this job. Use one of them.
The mounting system here is unnecessarily complex, and isn't even very good. The wingnuts are too small to be easily hand-tightened, and the whole mess falls apart as you loosen it.My advice? Find a simpler clamp, something with a 3/8"-16 or 1/4"-20 screw attach point, and then find a Garmin-compatible mount that will screw onto it. Don't buy this thing.Trust me. I have an entire toolbox full of different clamps, and this one has now been completely disassembled, dropped in a jar, and sealed in just to prevent me from reaching for it.
