My Granddaughter wanted crochet kits for Christmas, I saw this one and thought it would be perfect, girls love putting colorful keychains on their backpacks. This kit caught my eye with the cute colorful things she could make, looked like it would be easy for beginners, she is 9 years old, and has been learning prior to the holidays, she opened this kit on Christmas, and was very excited, and said she loved it, she has not started on this kit yet, I will update my review after I know what she thought of it and how well she did with it. This is one of a few kits we bought her for Christmas. Comes with instruction booklet, key rings, yarn, tape measure, crochet hooks, everything needed to make the cute Pom poms, and keychains, she can even make a unicorn purse. This is a great kit

Perfect for 9 year old grand daughter

My daughter really enjoyed this and overall I am glad I bought it. Couple of problems. I don’t think it’s a good gift unless you talk with caregiver first because it is quite difficult and my daughter (age 10) needed a lot of help. For me, I didn’t mind, but you have to make sure someone can help. Other problems were that the needles were too small and flimsy for the job they need to do, both snapped and we had to buy bigger ones. Also the marker was missing but we just used a pencil. Seems the marker was missing for other folks too. Great rainy day project, it took most of the day to make one. I think they will make great little gifts for friends.

Granddaughter loved it, good instructions for beginners

Perfect set for my 9 yr old daughter to start out with, she loves it! Comes with everything she needs and a cute little case to keep everything organized in!

I bought this kit for my 8 year old niece who was starting to learn basic crochet on her own. She was so excited to start the projects but as a left handed childed struggled with the instructions. I have also never crocheted and also struggled following the beginner instructions, and was extremely disappointed I could not help my frustrated niece. We were however able to have some fun making the pompom balls. I think the kit might be better if there was an adult with basic crochet knowledge.

Very nice starter set! I just retaught myself and then taught my daughter using this kit. I did buy a separate set of hooks because in some of the reviews people complained of the quality of the hooks and yarn. Personally I think both are great. The yarn is nice and thick and it comes with a decent amount. I have had zero issues with the hooks either. I haven't even touched the extra ones I bought. The instructions were decent. It's really hard to teach someone how to do some of the techniques through step by step instructions on printed paper. It's much easier just to watch someone do it. They do offer a website with video instructions which I found to be much better than the paper instructions. My daughter was really proud of herself and it kept her off her tablet for over an hour (🙌🙌). Overall I'm very happy with this and would definitely recommend it.
