Great Product - works well quality construction
This unit works really well when trying to alert or grab buddies or a groups attention. really great for instructors or buddies that stray more than 5 meters away from each other. I've successfully called attention from 15 meters (haven't tried further). The construction is solid, will survive the typical knocks and pressures of dive trips. I have not experienced any false signals with it. Neither when clipped to BCD or when secured in BCD pocket. CAUTION: As another reviewer highlighted (Thank you Mr. Fix) . The plastic end on the hand strap isn't the most secure it will pop off with some force. I removed it and tied a knot and it works perfectly. Happy diving !

Noise maker
Lightweight aluminum noise maker for scuba diving to replace one like this that I lost. Works well, small and light weight. I stick it in the sleeve of my dive suit and put the lanyard around my wrist and it doesn't get in the way or make much noise unintentionally. My partner has the same item and the occasional faint rattle when moving my arm or his keeps us in proximity without having to look around. I would purchase again

Breaks easily
This is the second one of these noise makers that I purchased. The lanyard on the first one Broke on my second dive and I lost it. I tried again. This time, the lanyard broke on my first dive, but, fortunately, I was able to catch it before it drifted away. The bell is certainly something you can hear underwater, but the lanyard definitely has to be replaced.

Pay attention to the size!
This signal does what you would expect. In that sense don't be afraid to buy it. However this thing is large. I'm 6'1, 250 with XL hands. If you are considering this signal take note of the dimensions. For perspective look at my photos. If you like to dive streamlined this accessory has the potential to hang down about 12". So if you like it large you will need to keep it in a pocket or maybe velcroed to you BC. Don't be detoured just do your homework. The 3 star rating is not for quality. It is because this signal was not practical out of the box.

Just good
Great rattler, been in use quite some time now and still fine. Sturdy and works, what else do you want from a noise maker?

Gets attention
This is no cue and noisy! My buddy heard it just fine.

Okay Noise Maker
We bought two of these diving noise makers before our last dive trip. They do make noise under the water, but I found them to be best effective when clanking it against my tank. The plastic pieces on the cord came off right away. These are mediocre.

Works really good! Made a small simple modification to mine.
I added a couple small magnets to the outside of mine and secured them with some heat shrink tape just so it won't rattle unless I want it to rattle. Aside from that the thing is perfect. The magnets and the heat shrink tape I already had on hand so it really didn't cost me anything extra.

I put a longer string on it and use it to bang my tank as well as a shaker
