Peter Dabbs has done a great job guiding the reader through lots of practical examples in a very logical and comprehensive manner. A great addition to any industrial designer's reference library.

This book is a fantastic tool to help understand all the details and work that go in to product design. From the outside, design seems like a subjective and fluid discipline, which can make it frustrating. This book however guides you through all the key aspects that make up great design, providing the general concepts and interactions between them. As a mechanical engineer working with designers I have found myself better understanding their work and the processes they go through from first sketch to a detailed concept. The book doesn’t just describe what good design is, it encourages your evolvement and gets you thinking. The great imagery and example graphics throughout the book really ease the understanding of the topics covered. I wish I’d had this resource during my university days and can recommend it to any student designer or engineer looking to broaden their understanding of the discipline.
