Good quality and works well for smaller jobs.
I have a few drain pans that are bigger than this one (one same style) so I wanted something smaller when changing oil in mowers/ small motors. The things I like about this one is that it is clear so you can see when it is getting full (the larger one I have is black and you can't see through it to see if it is getting full), I like when you slide this out from under something that the oil does not splash out the spout(common thing to happen with the ones with the spout at the edge with out a cap), The size of this is good for smaller jobs 4 1/2 quarts and under (I think it is a 5 quart capacity, but someone said you have to tilt it to get all 5 quarts into it), Also this one cleans up easier than my other one, for some reason the outside always seams oil coated. (I don't know if it is the plastic, but the oil comes off of the out side with ease.)

Using this for a camping sink!
Don't have pics yet, but got the idea from another camper. I am finishing up a Toyota Sienna lil camper build and this is perfect for washing dishes, brushing teeth and washing face as ya don't need to find another space to catch water...its all in one, so a great space saver!

Does the job.
Worked for my purposes of changing the oil on my Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager. It definitely fit underneath, but I had to loosen the bike's drain plugs first and then slide the pan underneath and remove the plugs by hand as the clearance was too tight to put a wrench on them under the bike with the drain container in place. I also had to use a secondary receptacle to put under the filter, but all in all I did not spill a drop. The Matrix Container worked good and held all the oil from the bike.

6-7 Quart Container. Leak free! Easily cleans up and great price.
There are a lot of choices out there for oil drain containers, but this one is really good; it doesn't leak! I can tell the sealing caps are better designed than most. The major complaints regarding this product when I purchased it from other reviews is that volume of oil that this can deal with was small. This fact had me worried because there wasn't a clear listed description on volume, but I risked the purchase anyways because many other containers I reviewed leaked and this one didn't. And we all know how leaking oil into your trunk isn't fun at all. I changed the oil on my 2003 BMW 530i and the oil reached the max limit. So I can confidently say that this container can take up to 6-7 quarts max. You wouldn't want to go more than this. Because of the design of the container the top is basically an integrated funnel and in order to maximize the amount of oil input, I had to open the side/larger cap to let air vent out. Otherwise the oil would just sit on top. You can do this before you drain the oil, or as you drain because the "funnel" is so large that it probably can hold a good quart by itself (5 quarts inside and 1 floating on top) so it won't overflow. Luckily the larger second drain cap is located high on the corner so I had plenty of height to not be worried about it overflowing through the new opening once the funnel drained. I was trying to search for a container with a large top opening with a huge lid instead of the integrated funnel that all containers nowadays seem to be moving towards (to lessen contamination), but trust me, this is the way to go. The top side easily cleans up afterwards and those super large lids always leak a little. I really like how this is really compact and I can find more storage options for it in the apartment. It being clear is helpful as well.

Good for Ninja 300 Oil Change
I used this to change the oil on my motorycle (It's a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 SE ABS). Some reviewers have said that their bike sits too low for this pan to fit under, but it was fine for mine. It's stock height, no lowering kit. The only issue I had was that the pan is not quite long enough to drain from both the bolt and the filter end at the same time, so a good bit of oil leaked onto the patio. Both the oil filter and the bolt will line up under the pan with about an inch to spare on either side.I think what may have contributed to the oil missing the pan was that the oil spilled form the filter drain onto the bike's exhaust headers, which carried the oil slightly outside the pan's dimensions and dripped down the side of the pan. Also, when you got fill the pan, take both caps off, otherwise the thing will kind of gurgle and splash as air is forced out of the little hole you drain the oil into. I only have 2.2 quarts (or 2.4?) of oil in the bike, so it doesn't come near the other cap.It doesn't really bother me that it spilled (patio already has lots of stains), but it might bother some people. Wish it were about 4-6 inches longer. Otherwise, it's a great idea to have a pan/disposal thing all in one place.

Awful design
The design is awful. I bought this to replace another "drain into side" bottle-type oil drain pan that worked for 12 years until the side cap gave out. This design drains into a shallow area in the side and uses a drain plug to cap it off so that oil doesn't spill out. The problem is that the hole for the drain plug is larger than most automotive oil pan drain plugs and there is no screen to catch the pan plug. Dropping the plug is a frequent occurrence, and it would drop right into a large container of waste oil with no easy way to retrieve it other than dumping the entire contents out into a larger oil pan. It is also made out of very cheap, thin material - something I wouldn't expect for a $28 pan. The material more akin to a cheap, disposable gallon milk jug - not something that would stand up to regular amateur garage use. I took one look at it, looked at the side drain design, and immediately put it back into the box for return. I would be better off sectioning a milk jug for free - at least it would be easier to fish the pan plug out of. To top it all off, I'm even out $6 postage on the return since it isn't "Prime". Don't make my mistake - take a pass on this one. It's a poor design and cheap junk for a not-so-cheap price.

Handy
Ideal for the home user. Every garage should have one.

Rubbish
Rubbish quality. The 'plug' in the top is flimsy crap. Doesn't seal and leaks. Don't waste your money.

Does the job
Hate dropping my oil drain plug into the pan everytime, so this was a nice solution. Nothing spilled and was ready to pack up and go once done. Can't ask for much more! Better than finding a jug to cut that's for sure. Do wish it was priced a bit more fairly though. All in all I'm happy with my purchase.

Good Oil Pan.
Perfect. Just what the Doctor...errrr Mechanic Ordered! Arrived quickly and is well made and will serve my purposes. Fairly durable and should last many years if well looked after. Ideal for the Small Car Oil Drain requiring a capacity of about 5 Quarts or less. A good way to keep the Oil contained until you transfer it back into the bottles for proper disposal. I recommend this product! Thanks, Amazon.

Overpriced But An Excellent Low Profile Liquid Collector
I needed a low-profile liquid collector to capture the used oil from my Honda mower. It has no oil drain plug, so you have to tip it over to 90 degrees, from an elevation (I use car ramps) to drain the oil from the mower. This product fits the bill perfectly. No spilled oil. It is made of plastic and it is well designed for its purpose. I thought the price was steep, but it does what I need it to do. I do not regret the purchase.
