VeriMark Guard USB-C

The device does not work on Windows. It's not recognized in any way on any computer. I've tried on four different computers and it doesn't work on any of them, nor on Google Chrome. I contacted support, they were very kind and sent me a replacement for free. The replacement also doesn't work and has the exact same problem. I do not recommend buying this device. It's better to look for another option on the market. Unfortunately, I bought this brand because of its reputation and the advertisement, which they should change, as all the information is incorrect. They shouldn't offer it for sale for Windows devices. I haven't tried a Mac yet, but I've seen comments that it doesn't work on them either.

This device is a great idea and definitely got my attention. However the shipping was horrible and took too long to become available. In addition the device did not work on most devices. The USB C technology being used with fingerprinting had to come equipped on your device prior for this to work. It does not operate like the traditional USB fingerprint readers which I have now gone back to. This technology will be great when they get it right but I would wait a few generations so you are not frustrated and disappointed as I was. Finally, I took multiple steps as given on the website, downloaded drivers, and other add ons per instructions and nothing worked. The hardest part is for the price this should be a plug and play and it is not. Definitely not with the time, money, or frustration at this time. Update: I reached out directly to Kensington and per their customer support this device does not support Windows despite the logo being advertised in the images here under the sell item.

The product description is incorrect.

The driver for Mac will not work, says it can not be verified as virus free and the packaging arrived contaminated. It smelled like jet fuel, horrible!

El lector de huellas es compacto y agradable esteticamente. Lamentablemente funciona a medias en el sistema operativo Windows 11. Ya que descague los archivos de la página oficial, un software que te facilita el ingreso de una contraseña y tus huellas dactilares. Sin embargo esto no garantiza que funcione la aplicación de Windows Hello y así puedas desbloquear el equipo como en versiones anteriores de este lector de huellas con Windows 10. Posiblemente con una actualización de Windows este inconveniente se solucione pero hay que esperar a que esto ocurra. Tambíen sería genial que la empresa subiera un driver que ayudara a que el equipo reconociera el lector de huellas ya que no aparece en los dispositivos conectados como debería un escaner de huellas dactilares. Pero bueno tal vez sea funcional en otras versiones de Windows así como de Mac. Por eso mi calificación es neutral.

After many hours of troubleshooting, I've managed to make the key detectable by windows as a security key and register a fingerprint. Unfortunaly, everytime I try to login with it, I get an error that something is wrong with my security key. Other than that, it looks great, but it is useless as it is.

Da ich den Kensington VeriMark Guard USB-C Fingerprint innerhalb von 8 Stunden mit Dell Support nicht installieren konnte, hab ich mich für preiswerten Ersatz entschieden (CSL - USB Fingerabdrucksensor), gute Anleitung und Hotline sind vorhanden. Vom Kauf des Kensingston FP Reader rate ich ab. Ich habe alle Treiber vom Sensor , von Kensington und von Windows ausprobiert, der Reader wurde nicht korrekt eingerichtet, bzw. die Treiber nicht akzeptiert. Die Anleitung scheint auch nicht für Windows Hello zu passen, obwohl es angegeben ist. Absolute Zeitverschwendung - nicht zu empfehlen.

Il dispositivo pure essendo pubblicizzato come fingerprint compatibile con windows hello, di fatto non lo è. Non consente di accedere a windows con l'impronta digitale. Viene rilevato come dispositivo HID FIDO\FIDO2 ma non consente di accedere a windows mediante la funzione Hello. Ho provato anche a caricare i driver dal sito ufficiale, ma con esito negativo (su Winsows 10 pro x64 e Windows 11 x64 non funziona). Pertanto se si vuole un dispositivo che abbia la sicurezza Fido e Fido 2 ed anche accesso a Windows Hello, acquistare l'altro modello il VerimarkIT che utilizza porta USB-A. Attualmente non esiste VerimarkIT con porta USB Type-C. Volevo le stesse funzioni ma con USB Type-C, considerato che ormai tutti i nuovi dispositivi utilizzano più quella e che la USB-A (quella tradizionale è destinata a scomparire).
