Aphogee Hair Care Double Bundle – Two-Step Protein Treatment (4 fl oz) & Balancing Moisturizer (8 fl oz)

I recently went to a salon to have my hair colored. I had a conversation with the stylist ahead of time about my expectations and concerns, most notably that I was anxious about having my hair bleached before it was dyed cobalt blue. I had a bad experience with it in the past when another stylist overprocessed it. I have very curly, fine hair ("Irish curls"). This stylist reassured me that they use very good products (Matrix) and I wouldn't have to worry about overprocessing. Long story short, she overprocessed my hair. It was fine while dry, but the color was coming out of my hair very fast, and the texture was rough while wet. I was very upset to watch the cobalt blue I loved so much fade within two washes to an aqua color. It was still pretty but not what I wanted. I remembered after my hair was overprocessed the first time that I had used a product that fixed it called Ion 2-Minute Keratin Reconstructor. It was a miracle product that I chose to try while considering Aphogee. It seemed like an easier product to use, and it did the trick. This time around, I decided to go with Aphogee. There wasn't a particular reason for this choice other than I didn't want to go to the local store. I'm really glad I got this. It worked just as well as the Ion product. My hair felt better than it did before I went to the salon, so I think it needed the protein treatment for a while. I have two tips for those about to use this. First, the protein treatment (step one) is very runny, though not as thin as water. You'll have a much easier time by putting it into a spray bottle and spraying it into your hair until it's soaked all over. Then use a comb to distribute it through your hair so you don't accidentally miss any spots. I used a standard hair dryer to dry it. I didn't move my head at all, because your hair can't be moved much during the drying process. Don't touch your hair during this step other than to verify that all sections of your hair have fully dried. I have long hair, and I found that I wasn't drying the ends at all, so I had to focus on them. Once your hair is fully dry, get in the shower and rinse it under warm water. Follow-up immediately with step two: the conditioner. It's important that you leave it in your hair for the full time period (2 minutes) to restore your hair's moisture balance. I set a timer on my phone, but you could also use a kitchen timer or Alexa device. Voilà! Your hair will be restored! As noted on the bottle, there's no need to use this more often than once every 6 weeks, as additional treatments won't be effective and the product will simply rinse off your hair and down the drain. My wavy hair was looking kind of limp and lifeless so I decided to see if I needed a protein treatment. It wasn't a DRAMATIC difference so I guess I wasn't too protein depleted but it did improve my hair. It's fuller, shinier, and the curly waves have better definition and staying power. I also don't need a leave-in conditioner because my hair is so soft now. The product is watery as others stated but I didn't find the smell to be unpleasant. I put it in a water bottle for easier application. The conditioning treatment smells really nice and worked great! It's hard to tell in the pictures but I have a lot of spiral waves and they were even more defined after this treatment. Especially the under layers that normally don't curl as well. I'll continue using this every 4-6 weeks just to maintain balance. Really like this product!

Found this product years ago for post treatment of hair bleach. Fabulous, easy to use two step hair repair. Follow the directions and your hair will love you as it is a lifeline for post color and bleach treatments.

Love this ! I have fine high porosity 4c hair and it definitely get the job done ! My hair feels healthier after each use but I recommend to not overdue it because of protein overload. Only thing is the product can get messy and sticky and the smell.

I have very damaged, brittle hair from years of coloring and I've tried so many products. My hairdresser suggested this and I tried it. It really made a difference in my hair! The texture is softer, less frizzy and shiner. This is a two step process so be prepared to follow the directions; it matters. Im not sure how the first part reacts and treats the hair but it works and the second part is conditioner. Affordable and worth it to try it. Also, there is easily five or more applications in each bottle. Good buy.

After applying it, your hair becomes very hard — and that’s completely normal. You should not move or manipulate your hair while it’s hard because it can break. This step is crucial since the protein is bonding to and strengthening the hair structure. It’s extremely effective for damaged, overprocessed, or chemically treated hair that needs serious reinforcement. However, it’s not meant for frequent use and should always be followed exactly according to the instructions. If you’ve never used a strong protein treatment before, I recommend having it done professionally or carefully following the step-by-step process at home. Overall, this is an excellent treatment when your hair needs intensive protein repair — just make sure to use it properly.

It burned my skin. But worked ok.

This protein treatment was EXACTLY what my hair needed to bring back the balance of strength along with moisture into my hair! I had shine that I hadn’t seen in months and my hair is happy. My hair is afro textured with some curls. This will now be a staple when I need a protein boost to help my hair maintain its health! The instructions are easy to follow and although the product is runny in consistency, hang over the sink or in the shower while you do it and it will work out just fine. The outcome is so worth it!
