LED Snowfall Light Tubes Set of 4 Christmas Chasing Light Sticks 20 Inch Long

After returning from a recent trip to China where I saw LED dripping lights in many public areas, I knew I wanted some for my own backyard. This set seemed to be a good price considering the fairly long tube length (and the longer, the better). I ordered 4 sets (16 tubes total) for one tree and they shipped quite promptly. Overall, the lights were pretty straight forward to install and the end-to-end connectors worked without a hitch. The tubes are made from a fairly thin plastic, so it will be interesting to see how sturdy they end up being, but I don't think it will be much of a problem.Really, my only criticism is that the animated lights cascade through the tube much too quickly. A single cycle lasts probably less than one second, whereas the lights I saw in China were about 3-4x slower, which produces a very pleasing puddle effect at the bottom of the tube (not so for this product). The four tubes on a given light strand operate in sequence (i.e., first tube 1; when it finishes, then tube 2; when it finishes, then tube 3; etc.), so it's not the case that all the tubes operate simultaneously, as was implied by another reviewer. However, if you connect several sets together, it appears that all the tube #1s on each strand operate together, then the tube #2s, then the #3s, etc. A little more "randomization" would have been nicer, but this product does produce an acceptable effect. If only I could slow them down!

I used them for Halloween, and they did exactly what I needed (an electric chair).But the seem very fragile.

Difficult to hang. And the lights should light up randomly rather than all in sync. Also too high priced in my opinion.

I first saw these lights on a street in Tampa Fl.... have thought they were the best i've seen ... very happy with them...would like to buy a few more....

I thought the quality was good, and the price was a good- cheap compared to the others sold on amazon and elsewhere, however I returned them! Compared to others I bought, these cascade too fast. The others I bought, and that I've seen on other houses 'fall like snow', these 'fall like raindrops', taking less than a second to 'cascade' the length of the tube. I liked the slower ones better and didn't want raindrops and snowflakes falling from the same tree!

the cons outweigh the pros.These lights are hard to find and usually very pricey in Christmas stores or lighting websites. So I purchased two sets of these @$38/ea (on Amazon) for 2012 Christmas, to hang on an outdoor (Apple) tree. They have worked well, howeverPros:- tube length. I do not think I would want anything shorter for my application.- quality seems okay.Cons:- needs more space between the tubes (at 24" the tubes are way to close to each other, the tubes should be IMHO at least 40" apart for the best affect).- the light cascades way to fast.- the string of 4 tubes should light up randomly rather than all in sync.- fills with moisture. Needs a small hole drilled in the bottom to drain moisture build up.At the current list price of $28 I would consider purchasing again only if I cannot find a better value.

The lights are good and have an individual pattern; however, I don't like the battery holder: 1) I had a difficult time inserting the batteries (slots seemed more narrow than the usual holders) 2) The case is made of TERRIBLE very thin & brittle plastic and a hinge broke when I closed the case the very first time.
