Cuts through tough dirt like butter!
I used this on my Milwaukee hammer drill to dig out some palm trees that were in rock hard dirt. I was amazed how easily it did the job! It took me about 15 min to dig and pull the palm tree out. Before I bought this, I spent 4 hours of back breaking work trying to do it by hand, and still didn't have it out. Can't wait to use it on other projects!

Used to dig up clay soil in yard
Had some dry hard clay soil and dug the snot out of it. I used this to loosen the soil with my SDS MAX and then used a standard shovel. to grab that.

Compatible with all SDS MAX hammers, durable, and efficient for digging through tough materials.
I recently purchased the Sabre Tools SDS MAX Clay Spade Digging Shovel for a landscaping project, and it has been incredibly effective. It's compatible with all SDS MAX sized impact rotary hammers, which was a major selling point for me as I use tools from different brands like Bosch and Makita. The one-piece design from high-quality hardened steel is noticeably durable. I've used it extensively to dig through various materials like clay, gravel, and dirt, and it has performed exceptionally well without showing any signs of wear. Its industrial-grade construction assures me that it's built to last. This shovel has made what would have been a challenging task much more manageable and efficient. I'm very satisfied with its performance and durability.

Poor quality.
Was not sharp at all. I could get thru what I was digging quicker with a sharp shooter shovel.

My rocky clay soil has met its match
The media could not be loaded. First off, the video I am sharing is when I first took it out of the box, to give a full view of how well this is made and the solid hunk of steel it is. I know that the size is represented correctly on the Amazon description page, but it was quite the thing to behold in person. This is solid steel and is literally something I have no issues saying solved my problem due to its high performance right out of the gate, first use. I got this specifically to break up hard rocky clay soil for trenching short runs iof conduit and making a sprinkler line extension. Pretty basic stuff, but considering the difficulty and time as well as the cost for renting a trencher for such small projects, this fit the bill perfectly. As a matter of fact, incredible value even if you need title rent an SDX MAX hammer drill.I'm just a home handyman who'll tackle just about any project, but I must confess I've never used such an attachment before, so I can't compare this with other similar tools. That said, for roughly $50, my goodness this is a no-brainer for smaller project that needs the old traditional hand work with a pick. Yes, I bounced all over the place till I got better hang of the limitations a best angles, and yes, this shock me up good. I still had a fair bit of hand shoveling and cleanup. But hey, compared to 100% hand work with a pick, bar, and trenching shovel...this is MUCH easier!

Decent
This is pretty heavy duty and will work for breaking up hard soil with a rotary hammer. The one got had some some surface imperfections as shown in the photo. But this won’t affect the functionality and this thing is made to dig in hard ground. So I’m not too picky about appearances.Make sure you have a rotary hammer that can take an SDS Max bit - the max is a larger size than regular SDS or SDS plus.

Works great for digging in clay soil and making clean, tight joint side cuts!
The Sabre Tools SDS MAX Clay Spade 4-1/2" x 17" Digging Shovel attachment works perfectly in my Bosch hammer rotary drill. It cuts through hard clay soil very nicely and leaves clean and straight sides for concrete pours. I find it invaluable when cutting soil next to an existing slab for getting strong clean joints that not only look good but last. It's a very good quality manufactured attachment that makes work easier with better results. Its durability should provide years of good service. I'm very pleased with the Sabre Tools SDS MAX Clay Spade 4-1/2" x 17" Digging Shovel attachment and consider it an excellent value in tools!

Heavier but cheaper
The Bosh one weighs less but is a bit more pricey.
