Love the series when I watched it on Amazon as London Hospital. It's the same shows under a different title. THIS DVD WILL NOT PLAY ON US DVD'S. It will play on your computer if you change the default from Region 1 to Region 2.

Good history, but as an RN, I cringes with the stark but accurate , hand hygiene (or rather lack of it) the characters displayed. Actually, I was distracted from the story line because of it. Well acted though.

I have watched this series several times. Great stories. A must see for nurses. I wished there were more episodes!

This product is absolutely fantastic, if you liked the tv series then this is a must buy. Even if you haven't seen the tv series and like a period drama, this is for you. For me, it is completely addictive and extremely watchable. It arrived bang on time,excellent delivery by amazon, one quarrel with the product is that indigo starfish who i bought it off at the time put into too big a packet and as a resutlt the outer box was damaged on arrivel. Also the disks weren't secured properly and were loose when I opened the product resulting in scratches on the disk but still playable.

i loved watching this dvd it was so watchable some of the stories really touched my soul thank god we now have the nhs i recomend everyone to purchase this dvd it would take some one with no feelings who could watch it without a tear in their eye i know i certainly did have many especially the story about the 13 year old girl who was made to sell her body by her own father and had been infected with a sti by one or more of her clients or the man who had tb and walked the streets so he didnt infect his own children many of the stories were still meaningful today the acting was brilliant please watch the dvd it will affect you as it has me

If, like me, you missed out on some of these fantastic authentic historical-educational-medical-romantic romps but really enjoyed the odd episode you tuned into, then this dvd is a real must! Be reasurred, ALL 10 episodes have the same quality of production standards as that little gem of an epiosde you caught on the hop. What's really nice is having a complete series in a shelf-freindly pack. It's the bbc showing off it's greatest asset - historical costume drama second to none. Nice to have some authentic historical interest running through the series. TV should have been the greatest educational tool ever - this series sits on the shelf with pride and is perfect for those stay-in evenings! There are no extras, which might disappoint some fans of certain actors, but there are subtitles and the picture quality of this box set is very high grade. Highly recommended.

This spin off of the ever popular Causualty show gives you a chance to see life as it really was back then, warts and all. The casting is inspired and the acting and scripts are everything you have come to expect from a BBC historical drama with the added touch of a soap opera background to the individual stories presented.All in all a great show that in turn makes you laugh, cry and shake your head in amazement at the way people lived and the things society overlooked.
