I am 67 and have SSD (single-sided deafness) due to skull fracture (motorcycle accident at 18). Not a candidate for surgery, this device is exactly what i would have designed. A wireless mike with main unit to hear people on my deaf side (conferences, classes, auto passengers, etc, the list goes on.) It came packaged and intituive just like an Apple product(s) I use. Very, very impressed. It has a lot of similiar applications. There are devices (new hearing aid technology) out there that can do this but are at a $3,000-$5,000 price point. I was tired of hearing sound behind me louder than sound in front of me when using my behind the ear hearing aids. This product solves that problem with the Bluetooth mic. clear sound when mic distance is less than 10 feet away but breaks up when more than 10 feet away or after 15 minutes of use. Small size is good. No way even close to 30 foot distance. Battery life when Bluetooth mic on is 30 minutes max, close to 1 hour with Bluetooth mic off. I bought two rechargeable micro USB batteries, plugged them into both and run time extended to 8 hours. Both pieces now much larger but usable as a hear aid. I am well aware that this product is not meant to substitute for a hearing aid but I hear better almost all day long with extra batteries attached than with my behind the ear aids I used before.
