U.S. Postage Stamp Collecting Kit Includes Free Stamps and Hinges

We got this starter kit for our son who is a Boy Scout that needed it for the stamp collecting merit badge. One of the requirements is to start a 100 stamp collection from one country. Well this kit has 100 stamps from the United States. We all had fun trying to find the pages where the stamps went it is like solving a puzzle. The pages are generally arranged by the years. There were only 10-15 stamps we just could not locate the page they went to but they have extra blank pages in the back. This kit was so fun that we are considering getting additional books.

This is a great gift for my grandson. I am introducing him to stamp collecting and the album is well produced and laid out. Lots of information about the stamps, so it is a mini-history lesson as an added bonus.

The album only includes more easy to obtain stamps which is exactly what I wanted. The USPS has over 4000 different issues. As a retired person on a fixed income this is perfect if you want to get back into collecting without spending a fortune. I also purchased a CD of album pages on Amazon making it easy to add pages for those issues that aren't included.

If you're just getting your feet wet with stamp collecting, this is a nice way to start, but be aware that it is a very small album. Not long after I bought it, I saw that I wanted something bigger and I spent more money to get a better album. The problem is that it can only hold so many images of stamps, so you find that there's a lot of stamps you can't find in it. But the price was good and the binder is nice. You also get some free stamps and some free hinges. So if you have a collector just starting out, they might like it. Myself, if I had known what I know now, I would have skipped buying this and just gone for the bigger album.

I think the album is absolutely awesome, featuring many stamps through out the history of US philately. The album even includes separate sections for airmail stamps, and blank pages for other stamps! This album is more than I can ask for, but one thing is not to good... They made an account in my name without asking me, which had led to them sending me mail about offers from their website.I would’ve recommended this to friends (because the album is great), but now I will not because I do not want them to be sent mailings for an account that they did not sign up for.

I purchased this beginners kit for my granddaughter and she loves it. We have great fun together mounting the stamps in her album. The kit is produced and sold by Mystic Stamp Company and I have been a customer of theirs for years. They produce a high quality albums, supplies, and stamps and their service is outstanding. This starter kit has almost everything a beginner needs for the price. The only thing missing is an inexpensive magnifying glass. The album has clear illustrations of the stamps so it is easy to match the stamps to the illustrations. It also has a little history about each stamp or group of stamps on the left page. This makes collecting a great deal more fun when you can read about the history of the stamps and why they were created. I highly recommend this starter kit if you want to begin collecting stamps. I would encourage Mystic Stamp Company to include an inexpensive magnifying glass for beginners. All-in-all I say this is a great buy for the money.

The album is a sturdy 3-ring notebook. Included with a packet of stamps is a booklet with information to assist the beginner in getting started, plus a basic catalog.

This was purchased as a gift for my 11 year old daughter who has shown an interest in collecting stamps. It's a great starter kit and the 100 stamps that were included was a great bonus. I like the short description of each stamp... she's learning a bit of history along the way. The book only goes through 2013... I wish it would have been current, but it's still a great way to get started. My daughter has spent hours looking through the book trying to find the stamp locations to put them in their correct locations and picking out favorites that she wants to find.
