byFormica Sunburst Ant Nectar - Original Formula, 120 mL Bottle

I still have this product that I bought back in June of 2015. As of several days ago, my ants still love this product. Alternating between this and Dubia roaches every other week, my 2 year old carpenter ants are flourishing. The best part about Sunburst Ant Nectar is the convenience. It's like fast food in a bottle. No time wasted mixing up honey with water. A couple of drops and you're done!

I've tried this with Lasius, Camponotus, P. imparis, Tetramorium, Temnothorax, Crematogaster and even some species of Aphaenogaster, and they all love this. For starter colonies in a test tube I use a few drops into a piece of cotton. For the larger colonies I use the ByFormica Liquid feeders. Pic shows my C. americanus fresh off of feeding from a feeder and using trophallaxis to share amongst the colony. It's much more convenient than mixing sugar water, and if the bottle is kept clean, no issues with mold. Also doesn't having the problems of honey where workers will get stuck and die. The owner of ByFormica is very active in anting forums, and does a great job answering questions and supporting people.

Buy thos stuff all the time , ants absolutely love it and its perfect for their health , just be sure not to put in more than need at one time

I have 3 colonies that all love this food. One colony was on its way out almost dead, and I started giving them this along with fruit flies and they are making a massive comeback. Sadly these ants wont eat the blue 100 and the byFormica food they would eat is not longer available.The only question I have is whether this product is intended to only be used alone, or to be mixed with the other vitamin mixes, or possibly a protein mix. I am having great success using this as the carbs element of their diet and using other sources of food for protein (meal worms, fruit flies).

Have tried this for a few different colonies and none of them really go for it. I'd skip this personally and go with products/feeding guides that ant keepers have used for decades. There is really no need for this.

Handy, ants love it! It's stayed fresh on the serving tray for quite a while now too. Some foods will dry out or mold but this has been stable for the ants. I've fed them to many different species and they've all taken to it right away: Pheidole, Pogo's, Liometopums, Formica and Crematogaster to just name a few.

I wouldn’t have bought this product if I would’ve known it has yellow five. Can just made your own with maple syrup and minerals that You would use to re-mineralize water.
