Works great, but pinout IS NOT what is shown in the pictures!
The pinout is direct from the DB9 to the RJ45: 1 to 1, 2 to 2, ..... ,7 to 7, 8 to 8, and 9 isn't hooked up.If you are using one of these adapters at either end of an ethernet cable, then it will work perfectly fine (within serial cable length limits anyway). Or if your are rolling your own device and can make sure to match the pinout, you are good as well. But, if you are trying to use one of these as a console cable (to a Cisco or whatever) or as an EIA/TIA-561 compatible cable, then it won't work properly as the pinout is different. Unless of course you can modify your device to change the pinout. While the product itself is 5 stars and works great, the incorrect information deducts a star. If the listing was updated to show the correct pinout, I would update my rating no problem.

Not Wired for RS-232
The description says "RS-232". The pins are wired straight through, pin 1 to pin 1 through pin 8 to pin 8, this is not wired for RS-232. While the form and build are great I need what they described, an RS-232 adapter, sorry but this goes back to Amazon .

Well-constructed in appearance. Windows 10 64 bit won't go to download the driver.
No CD or DVD with appropriate drivers were included. Finding the right ones on the web is hit-and-miss. Not good.I have frequent difficulty getting my amateur radio frequency information from the radio to my logging software via a USB-to-Serial port comnnection. Today I tried a RJ-45-to-DB9 serial connector instead of the USB-to-Serial port cable. The requirement to find the proper Windows 10 64-bit driver for either of these cables is hit-and-miss with insufficient instructions and guidance. Where can I find the FTDI drivers for download and how do I determine which specific driver is appropriate for my Windows 10/11 64-bit laptops?

Not for USB to RJ45 serial adapter
You can not use this adapter with a USB to RJ45 serial adapter. The pin out on the picture description is wrong. This adapter is meant to be used with an Ethernet cable and another one of these on the other end.
