One Star
Amanda Redman is a good actor but the DVD and script fall short of New Tricks.

I liked Amanda Redman
After having watched "New Tricks" with Amanda Redman, I thought I would see what else she starred in. There was a bit too much language in this show and I guess British TV is okay with partial nudity and alluded sex scenes which I don't think you'll find on American broadcast TV (maybe cable). To me, the show found it's groove halfway through the 2nd episode (too much going on in the first episode to introduce all the characters and different sub-plots). It seems no matter how hard Lindsay (Amanda Redman) tries it's hard to "go straight" after a life of crime. The DS (policeman) seems like he has the hots for Lindsay. Turns out he's the son of Jon Pertwee (the resemblance is there) the 2nd doctor on Doctor Who back in the 60's/70's.Seems like Vin/Taylor gets both the Hong women (the step-mom & the daughter). Again, by the middle of the 2nd episode it was easy to follow and in the end the series could easily rest on the 6 episodes that aired.

A Visual "Beach Read".
I really enjoyed watching this family ...led by Amanda Redman, who I would watch in anything. It was a bit silly & predictable but a fun light comedy romp...too bad there are only 6 episodes.

Honest
This is a very unusual concept, but was well done. It's biggest drawback is the use of language and lost morality of her family, as she struggles, successfully, to turn their lives around. We would like to have seen more shows in an effort to communicate the outcome of the family. Ok ... but not up to Midsommer, Foyle's War, or New Tricks.

Five Stars
After many many seasons as the star of New Tricks, Amanda Blake is rather interesting in Honest. Honest! A+

Still great
I now have nine seasons and they continue to exhibit the humor and of course mystery that I have come to expect

Hilarious!
I was absolutely going on spec here as we never got this series over in Australia, but anything with Amanda Redman in is generally guaranteed to be good. The story was fantastic and there were some real laugh out loud moments. What a pity there was never a second series.

where is series 2?
A very good comedy series which needs a sequel or it will be one of those one offs which disappear without getting true appreciation,by the end of series 1 the charecters work well and is almost believable if you forget the odd bit of nonsence ,nevertheless well worth watchingamanda redman and sean pertwee are great and the rest dont do a bad job.If you seriously like this programme then acquire the new zealand series called outrageous fortune which i have and after 2 episodes only you will see an x rated version of this series which is not for the faint hearted, when i first saw honest i thought that must have squeaked in but OF IS WELL BEYOND THAT.If you dont laugh at Honest then unless you are offended by certain sub plots like the transvestite prison escapee or the escapades of the eldest daughter, then you have a problem.Nicest thing about the show.... Burt Kwock as Mr Wong always thought he was great as cato in the pink panther

£1.99
This is one of the most seriously unfunny things I've seen on TV. Some of the 'messages' it sends out about blackmail and coercion etc. illustrate just how confused we are about society. It is a comedy without wit. No jokes, or even one-liners, at all. Just people enacting dopey stereotypes in unimaginative situations with some bonking and boobs thrown in. Maye Choo as the eye-candy is the one redemption, speaking for myself, but after the first few episodes I binned the set anyway. I could see exactly why it had been offered at £1.99. As for Amanda Redman, she just plays her feisty self over and over again in whatever she does. Classy it most definately ain't.

Dissapointing
I bought this on spec because it had Amanda Redman in and I just love New Tricks, not a good reason to buy a video.
