This book is a lightly written collection of tips and tricks for anyone looking to meet your person in the Internet age. What can and will undoubtedly happen, if you stay at it long enough. She has a lot of good advice on how to survive the process of meeting new strangers every week and navigating along the way.When first starting out Wendy created a blog to write about her dates and, I would think, to keep from losing it a little in the dating scene, which can be a bit crazy and daunting at times. The book contains a selection of some of these stories, with other dating advice thrown in.Wendy didn't settle for the cute guy (or 100 cuties) but kept at until the right person came along. She's committed to long-term happiness with the right person. Wendy shares her successes and failures, which in turn you can take to heart and learn from rather than experience. She holds her own while she's out there looking for her man (not just any man). In the end, she finds him in the least expected way. I can't wait to hear what's next from Wendy as uses her skill as a communicator and love expert in her new relationship.

This is an interesting book. I am older and was startled to read some of her dating suggestions. I think she has some good ideas and she is funny.

This is the first dating advice/experience book I've ever read that I could really relate to. All I could think was "wow, she really gets it!" And she has such a great point of view. Balanced, kind, super funny. I found it a delightful read and I intend to make it my go to as I approach the online dating world after years of avoidance. She gives very real suggestions that I think will make all the difference in how I approach the process of dating again, and the enjoyment I get out of it. A big thank you for this book!

I am one of several people who followed Wendy's blog and said "You have to write a book about this!" She combines her real life experience with online dating (and friends' setups or other meets) along with the knowledge she's learned and shared through her association with Pax about the differences between men and women's communication and styles. Wendy is hilarious but also smart and insightful, with a very readable and entertaining writing style. Anyone that is entering the dating pool, or frustrated with it will pick up some great tips along with several LOL moments along the way.

The book is aimed at women. I haven't finished it. Yes, it can be amusing, but it would have been helpful for me to know it was a guide for women only. Probably not much in here for a man to apply other than a few general things.

I found this book just in time to avert potential disaster! I had a first date coming up with a lovely man from an online dating site, and I used Wendy's advice to avoid making any gigantic mistakes. We hit it off, and the second date was a success, too! I give Wendy's book a lot of credit for helping me to relax, back off, and enjoy the process instead of worrying about the outcome.

It’s uncanny. I’ve had more than a few post-divorce dating escapades that have mirrored Wendy’s. I was amazed by the parallel experiences she and I have shared! True, Wendy is younger than I, curvier in all the right places, more confident and vivacious, a bona fide city girl who regularly rocks stilettos, and a relationship guru to boot, but regardless of these “pesky” details, Wendy and I seem to have dated identical men. (Although Wendy’s suitors were definitely hotter and richer than mine!) Wendy’s book: "121 First Dates," is filled with super-beneficial dating tips for older single gals. Wendy spices things up by sharing stories of some of her true dating successes and missteps. I like how Wendy compared men’s first date references to a romantic future with her to dressing a paper doll. Apparently, men may unintentionally “try their date on for size” without intending for things to progress further. Once we’re given insight into this type of male behavior, we women can “cool our jets” and enjoy the moment without setting ourselves up for heartbreak. I also like how Wendy encourages her single unattached readers to date multiple men simultaneously. She reminds us that were not obligated to offer up explanations or excuses. After all, choosing to date multiple men at once is a perk of being single! Entertaining and full of insights – "121 First Dates" is an easy-to-digest dating guide for the modern woman.
