Stylish and Functional Addition to the Kitchen
The Elite Gourmet EKT1220M Electric Glass Kettle has been a wonderful addition to our kitchen. Not only does it match perfectly with our kitchen decor and dishes, but it also performs admirably in terms of functionality. One of its standout features is the temperature dial and keep warm function, which ensures that our water stays at the desired temperature consistently. However, it's important to note that even when it's turned off, it still maintains the water at the set temperature, so remember to unplug it when not in use if you don't want it running. While we do wish the carafe was slightly larger, we opted for the smaller size to match our kitchen decor, and we're happy with our choice. Despite its size, it still meets our tea-drinking needs efficiently. One thing to be mindful of is the potential for hard water build-up. To combat this, we regularly heat a vinegar mix through the kettle to keep it clean, which has proven to be effective.Overall, we're delighted with the Elite Gourmet EKT1220M Electric Glass Kettle and would purchase it again without hesitation. It's not only a practical appliance but also a lovely addition to our kitchen that enhances both form and function. It's a great little kettle.

Has all the features one could want :)
I really like this electric kettle. I think that some people who are having some trouble with it may not have read or understood the directions. I found this kettle to be as described and easy to either boil water or warm water. When you want to boil water, push down the lever no matter where you put the dial it will boil because the lever at the bottom of the handle is meant for boiling only. Set the dial at the temp you want the water to stay warm at and the kettle will keep the water warm to the temp even after you return the kettle with water still in it after pouring out what you need. You can keep the water warm wherever you set the dial to. If all you want to do is warm water up set the dial to that temp and the water will warm to that temp but will not boil, it will only warm. If you set the dial all the way to the left, it will turn the appliance off. Do not push down the lever if you do not want to boil your water. I hope this is clear enough. when you are done with your kettle, turn the dial all the way to the left and unplug it then store it wherever you plan to store it. It's pretty enough to keep on the counter if you have room and like pretty things on your counter like I do. :)

Works different than I expected but nice teapot.
Really nice looking, glass is what I was looking for, but it doesn't actually boil the water. That's ok though, we still have the old one to boil water to add to whatever needs it. This gets it hot enough that it's drinkable right away and we don't have to wait for an hour to be able to take a sip lol (we use our insulated travel mugs even at home). The dial on the front is not what I am used to on electric kettles, it's actually nicer. Whatever temperature you leave the dial on, it will keep the water that temp all day if you want it to. It shuts off and on to maintain that temp. Since it never boils the water, there is no risk of it boiling away with the lack of an auto shut-off, which wouldn't work with this kind of heat maintaining set up. Happy with it :)

Temperature Control is Horrible
It looks nice but the temperature control is completely inaccurate. The temperature control knob goes from off to on to 120° to 150° to 190°. Below 120° there are five marks the sixth being 120°; between 120° & 150° there are four marks with the 5th being 150°, which makes each mark an increase of 7.5°???; between 150° & 190° there are three marks indicating a 10° increase with each mark. When set to 190° the HOTTEST temperature the kettle would achieve was 163° before ceasing to heat and going into keep warm mode. When set to 180° the hottest temperature I could measure was 149°.The temperature control feature is useless for making tea of any kind but black which is supposed to have boiling water which can only be achieved by turning the switch under the handle to ON.Just a note: the temperature control knob and the on-off switch operate independently of each other but the on-off switch Over-rides any temperature setting on the "Temperature Control knob" and just roars to a boil before ceasing to heat and going into keep warm mode.Completely inaccurate for heating water to a specific temperature; completely inadequate for brewing a good-tasting cup of tea. Look elsewhere.EDIT 2/24/23I found a glimmer of hope in this kettle. My former kettle was solid stainless steel so I was never able to observe the differences between bubbles produced at 160° and those produced at 190°; having taken the time to learn the differing Size of the bubbles produced at different temperatures, their intensity, and their quantity which you can observe in this glass kettle; I have found the pleasure of learning something which I did not know; how the bubbles grow bigger as the temperature climbs towards boiling; when to turn off the kettle for herbal teas (small bubbles- low intensity,165-170°), oolong teas (small bubbles- busier intensity,184-192°), to french press (medium bubbles-busy intensity, 198-202°), to black tea (roiling boil, marble-sized bubbles-full intensity, 210-215°). I watch it as I'm preparing my chosen beverages' mixture of leaves and buds and beans.A nice feature of this kettle is that the lid comes completely off the kettle body and is not hinged as many kettles are; this allows me to place the kettle into the recess in my refrigerator to fill it with filtered water directly and not having to fill a separate vessel and then transfer that to the kettle...I never realized how time-saving and beneficial this feature was, as my former kettle had a hinged lid that did not allow filling directly from the frig. Also, because of the glass body, the quantity measurements are visible as you fill it.I still maintain that a thermostat should accurately control a temperature, however, I have raised my star rating to 4 stars for the knowledge I have gained regarding the visual cues of water temperature, and because that knowledge has transferred to my experiences in cooking as well.Overall, I am pleased with my purchase now.

Best tea kettle I’ve ever owned! 🥰
I’m having trouble understanding what all of the bad reviews are about. I have had this tea kettle for three years and it is the best tea kettle I have ever owned! It is not made in a flimsy way. The only way the screen at the poor spout could be damaged is by fingers being pushed through them. I have never had any issues with this kettle. Maybe it does get extra hot, but that’s what I like. I only drink black English tea. So it doesn’t seem to scorch the tea or cause any issues. There is a dial for it, not to overheat over certain temperatures so if you wanted to set it for a temperature for herbal tea, you easily could. I think it is very well worth the cost and would recommend this tea kettle.
