A very helpful walkthrough of ABGs that I wish I’d read during nursing school. Worth a read if you work at bedside. It’s helped me understand what I’m looking at in relation to symptoms and/or compensation in my patients. Decided to read this after struggling with PCCN exam practice, thankfully I’m not scared of ABG questions anymore 😊

This was a very educational and informative read for me! A lot of information I was already aware of because of my occupation, but so much of it was definitely new to take in. Loved it!

This book finally allowed me to understand the blood gases. I also loved that they have tests at the end of the chapter that helps you to check your knowledge.

I am a NICU nurse and part of my job is obtaining ABG, VBG and cap blood gases - and understanding what they mean for my patient! This book has a conversational tone which makes it easy to read (versus being “dry”) and covers all the good stuff - partial pressures, V/Q ratios, metabolic concerns, etc.

Amazing! Love how it explains things and then quizzes you about it after - and then includes explanations for why the right answer is correct. It uses simple and easy to understand language too - perfect for beginners to ABG interpretation!!
