"Essential Coleman Dual Fuel Lantern: Reliable Lighting for Any Adventure"
I've been using the Coleman Dual Fuel Lantern for several months now, and I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance. Right out of the box, the build quality is excellent, with a sturdy design that feels durable and ready for outdoor adventures. The dual fuel capability is a game-changer, allowing me to use either Coleman Liquid Fuel or unleaded gasoline, making it incredibly versatile and convenient. The lantern provides a bright and consistent light, perfect for camping trips, backyard gatherings, or emergency situations. It’s easy to light and adjust, with a simple control knob that lets you dial in the perfect amount of light. The large fuel tank ensures long burn times, so you’re not constantly refueling, which is a huge plus for extended outings. One of the standout features is its reliability. Regardless of weather conditions, this lantern performs flawlessly. Whether it’s cold, rainy, or windy, the Coleman Dual Fuel Lantern lights up every time and maintains a steady brightness. It’s also relatively lightweight for its size, making it easy to pack and carry. The only negative thing I have to say about this particular product is the carrying case. And it's not just this lantern—Coleman's carrying cases have always been lacking throughout my entire life.Overall, the Coleman Dual Fuel Lantern is an outstanding product that delivers on its promises. If you’re in need of a reliable, bright, and versatile lantern for outdoor adventures or emergencies, look no further. This lantern is worth every penny and has become an essential part of my outdoor gear.

Excellent lantern for your go bag dual fuel so you always have fuel
This is a cover in case and old school dual fuel lantern.Because it's dual fuel. You can use a white gas from camp stores. Or you can just go to the gas station and use unleaded gas which makes it great no matter where you are. I can always siphon off a cup full of gas out of a car to use it.Very well made, the Duo cloth globes are very bright.

great lantern.
Great lantern, very well made, it is a dual fuel usage, which is very helpful when camping or in an emergency situation. I found it a bit steep, and I wish I would have ordered the larger version. Other than that a good buy.

small and bright
This is a solid little lantern. It puts out plenty of light and is well constructed although it's a little smaller than I expected. The dual fuel feature is a big plus. One item on my wishlist is the Coleman 295A720T Reflector, Lantern to help redirect the light.Initially I thought the plastic carrying case was unnecessary since the lantern comes in a good box for storage. However, after our first weekend of using it we had some rain. The box would have been ruined. The downside to the plastic case is that you cant put the lantern in it while it's still hot. After it was time for bed I had to wait for it to cool down (in the rain) before I put it in its case. A vented metal case would be much better. As far as the complaints about the case not latching properly, I can see why it could be an issue. You have to carefully snap the hooks completely in place or the bottom may fall out. This wasn't an issue for me. I can see the snaps wearing out after some use though and maybe some of the case come with bad latches. If you are looking for a good lantern this may be it.9/28/2013 update:This lantern is still working great after three years of use. It has been banged around and dropped on accident at least once. It is still working great. Even the case with its cheap plastic latches haven't worn down yet. I like it enough that when I thought I had lost it I replaced it with the same model.

Works great
I ask my wife to buy me a Coleman, she did but was a lantern with batteries!!!! I want one like the one I used when I was a boy scout in the 60's. Found it in Amazon, ordered two and now I am a happy camper, works great as I remembered. I use unleaded gas and the only thing to replace are the mantles. Great product and easy to use.

May it be a light for you in dark places, when all other lights go out.
Lantern is very good. Produces bright, white light. Not super noisy - it's a gas lantern so you do get a big of that jet-engine sound and full tilt, but that's pretty standard. It's certainly not a problem.Seemed to get good fuel efficiency. Runs for many hours on a single tank and I like being able to use multiple fuels - although I've only used white gas so far - it's cheap and readily available but I like to know I could use other fuel in a pinch or disaster situation - that's why I got this version.Case, as other reviewers have indicated is something to be careful of. The bottom latches in via a two protrusions on the base that fit into 2 slots on the case top. Since the case top is thin plastic it could easily bow if pressed on the sides and this could cause the tabs to pop out and then, yes, the bottom would just fall out taking your lantern with it. So, yes, if I were Coleman I'd design a better case. But knowing this, just handle with care.My one problem, was that on my first use, one of the mantles developed a hole as it shrank (they shrink when they burn on first lighting). And what I didn't know then, but do now, is that that created a little jet of heat that cause the globe to crack. If I'd known, I would have replaced the mantle. I haven't been a long-time gas lantern user so this was a learning experience for me. If your mantle is damaged, replace it and I'm sure you'd avoid this issue.I also have had a bit of an issue tracking down the replacement globe. Amazon carries numerous models but seems like there are dozens of Coleman lantern models but most of the globes I'm seeing here and on other camping supply sites don't list this specific lantern model in their compatibility lists. So I'm probably going to have to gamble on the closest one.
