I've been struggling with pieced-together tools for some time now, and time and time again I've found myself with the "right" tool that didn't quite excel at the specific application (drain plugs). After nearly giving up on a differential fill plug, I decided to roll the dice on these and hope that fill plug specific tools would be better than their generic counterparts. The bet paid off! My socket fit snugly and firmly and allowed me to finally break free the plug that had consistently threatened to strip previously. I regret not buying these sooner, and I cannot recommend these enough!

An "experienced" "mechanic" changed the oil of this car and did this to the plug. It was destroyed. All what is needed is this 8mm squared tip socket. That's it!I'm happy with doing things myself because of experiences like this one.Product recommended!

Item came extremely late.. not as promised

As advertised, needed the one square socket to pull oil galley plugs from an engine block. Kinda cheap but definitely strong enough for occasional diy use.

This worked like a charm in removing the check/fill and drain plugs in my 2000 VW Cabrio. It's just the right size (of course) and length to get into the tight space where the check port lives near the driver's side, front tire. The transmission is very happy with its new oil.Pro tip: if your check/fill port is hard to get to you can remove the speedometer sensor from the top of the transmission and fill the oil through there. A piece of plastic tubing and an old 75w-90 bottle with the flat bottom cut off make a handy, long funnel for refilling.

I hate when you have to have some weird tool that is close to what you already have, but not QUITE. That's the case for working on the 2001 VW Jetta. Thank heavens Amazon had this, and in stock on Prime. Did the trick. Just had to stop the axle service project until this came. Used for like 1 minute and then was thrown into the toolbox. Maybe will never use again, but it's there. Small price to pay to complete the job. Great quality. Happy with it.

I bought this drain plug set specifically for the hard to find 13mm square head socket needed to remove the rear differential drain and fill plugs for a 2007 Subaru Outback wagon. There was a little play when this was inserted in the plug, but it worked. The plugs needed a lot of persuasion to remove as they use gorillas and thread lock when they put them in. Set was a little pricey for my need, but comparable to the price of a single drain plug offered elsewhere. They seem to be of decent quality and hopefully they will last a while. Set comes on one of those friction fit strip socket holders.
