Better than I expected
I had an older GoPro Hero that has amazing video quality but the battery life is just terrible. I gave this camera a chance thinking worst case I could just return it. This thing is great. I have it mounted on my motorcycle helmet. Video quality seems to be as good as my GoPro was. The standard battery lasts a long time even with stabilization turned on but I also got the extended battery for those longer multi day off road trips. I also like that it doesn't stick out as far on the side of my helmet. The app that works with it is ok, nothing special. I usually have Bluetooth off to get longer battery life. The button to turn on and start/stop recording is easy enough to use with gloves on and the sound set to max is audible through the helmet with earplugs.

Great performing video camera, questionable support and quality
I really liked the quality of the video that this camera took. Used it for flying so that I could review my flights. Much better battery life than the GoPro that I used to use AND I could attach it to my headset so that it would point where I was looking... That's the good part. The bad part is that this camera died after a few weeks. Worked with Amazon to troubleshoot, and Amazon customer service suggested that I contact Drift tech support for assistance. After emailing back and forth with Drift for about a week, I finally received an RMA from Drift and was asked to ship my camera to them for repair. That was on 7/22/24. Today is 9/3/24 and while I did receive an email yesterday from them saying that they will ship the camera back to me, it took more than a month before I got any response to my emails. In the interim, I did purchase a 1080P (Drift XL) version of the same camera as that was the only one is stock on Amazon. One thing to note about the XL vs the 4K. Even though they look identical in the pictures, the XL version is about 15-20% larger and slightly heavier.[Edit 9/14/24] Received an multiple emails from Drift that the replacement camera will be shipping soon. Finally got an email today that reads "It looks like this stock should be in place to finally get this replacement shipped for you this week". We will see. Definitely a frustrating experience. I have dropped my rating to 1 star...

Made in UK - Quirky - But Works and Is Aerodynamic
The UK is known for its software programming kind of like it's known for its dental work. Not the best but it will get you by. In a word the firmware controlling this device is quirky. But once you understand the overall framework you should be happy.RULE #1: They have a detailed PDF manual on their web site that outlines the features which are available with each video mode. If you wonder why certain settings don't take as you navigate through multiple menus/settings/modes you will understand when you look at the table that cross references everything.RULE #2: Unless you are in 'CAR DVR' mode this device will not delete old videos on the storage card. It simply runs out of room and you won't be recording anything (without any obvious warning). I figured this out when cycling and had a group act like they were going to pull one of their buddies in front of me and I discovered the memory card was full and missed the event. If not in 'CAR DVR' mode you will have to manually clear storage. Note 'CAR DVR' mode only records at 1080.....This device is great for my purpose which is to witness events while cycling. The battery lasts for over 2 hours which is a basic requirement and the video quality is great. I use 4K without video stabilization (stabilization is only available at 2K resolution). The 4K is much better quality and the video stabilization doesn't add a whole lot in my opinion.I ended up mounting this on the top of my helmet using 3M VHB double sided adhesive tape (this is the same adhesive Drift uses on their mounts). I had to layer the tape so the camera actually points slightly up while I'm in my normal riding position. If you use for the same purpose plan on some experimentation. You can do this with the supplied mount with a little determination (make sure you have a roll of VHB). They also sell a bicycle handlebar mount if that's your thing - search their store on Amazon. If you mount this on a bicycle helmet plan on mounting it on top, and not on the side. This unit is too heavy to mount on a side by itself and will drag your helmet down. If you are determined to mount on the side you'll have to counterbalance your helmet on the opposite side. Mounting on the top their is no problem. They also sell a helmet mount if you want - I find my VHB solution works just fine though. The only real negative is the scattered layout of their settings/modes. Some settings are made on the video page and others in the settings menu. Again you have to understand the high level framework to make the appropriate choices. If you select incompatible options you may be disappointed, or confused, your video is not shot in the mode/frame rate you desired. This is the biggest negative. If you want a camera that has great quality, long battery life, even longer battery life with optional extended capacity battery - then this is probably your best option.Quirky - but yes at this point I'd recommend but please review their PDF. For some reason their website didn't work well using Firefox - and I had to use Opera. No - I refuse to use Chrome which is simply a surveillance tool for G..

Okey, but button stuck
The power button on the camera gets stuck in the "pressed" position, preventing the camera from turning on. To fix the problem, I had to disassemble the camera, which voided the warranty, and reconnect the button ribbon cable. Only after doing this did the camera start working. The described functions work perfectly, and the image quality is excellent.

Great quality video.
Video quality is excellent. On the reviews when compared to a GoPro it would seem that the GoPro is way better, but now that I have it, there is absolutely no need for said GoPro. I use this for mountain biking and the stock battery life is 2.5 hours on average, which is more than enough for me.You need to update the firmware before your first use. I believe the issues some may have had might were because they didn't.I saw in a review that you had to pair every time you use it but that isn't the case. It connects.

this camera company is only interested in making money and providing no value for your dollar
buyer beware, so i bought a bunch of the accessories and attempted to put them together and use them as i found the accessories , but the first camera didn't even power on, but the second one did, then i tried to contact support and the amazon seller is Drift directly, (first camera) so i figured this should be a walk in the park message them well i messaged to find out a week later i get the messageThe key detail I believe you are missing here - is that the retailer is obligated to deal with warranty cases, not the manufacturer.Although we do provide technical support for all Drift users, regardless of where they purchased their Drift camera from (hence why you will have been forwarded to us when you made your inquiry initially) - when it comes the actual warranty terms for cameras, we can only help with devices / accessories purchased directly from our online store. so then product returned to amazon , ordered the second one thinking it might be a one off. so Drift produces a Bluetooth camera and i purchased it separately as i didn't see it available as a set until i was directly on their own website. and long story short, i tried to pair it . failed, contacted support and got The Ghost 4K+ model is not compatible with the BT Remote accessory, yet their own webiste states "Pairs to Ghost XL Pro, Ghost XL or Ghost 4K via Bluetooth for low power interaction. Uses a CR1632 battery and includes" so we won't be able to help you with this I am afraid , then asked so what cameras is it compatible with and received no answer. what to expect is horrible service and a product that is iffy at best. a company not expecting to perform customer service as the answers are short to the point and fail to answer any questions. the model i had, was the 4k it looks like it is upsized with software or processor processor as as the CCD is too small for 4k and the mic well it works when it wants to
