What are these enzymes, exactly? Enzymes are proteins that facilitate specific chemical reactions. Digestive enzymes facilitate the chemical breakdown of food into smaller, absorbable components. Enzymes called amylases break down starches into sugar molecules; proteases break down proteins into amino acids; and lipases break down fat into its component parts. We eat food, but our digestive system doesn’t absorb food, it absorbs nutrients. Food has to be broken down from things like steak and broccoli into its nutrient pieces: amino acids (from proteins), fatty acids and cholesterol (from fats), and simple sugars (from carbohydrates), as well as vitamins, minerals, and a variety of other plant and animal compounds. Digestive enzymes, primarily produced in the pancreas and small intestine, break down our food into nutrients so that our bodies can absorb them. If we don’t have enough digestive enzymes, we can’t break down our food—which means even though we’re eating well, we aren’t absorbing all that good nutrition. What Causes My Digestive Enzymes to Stop Working Correctly in My Body? Disease may cause your digestive enzyme levels to be low. Even in the absence of any obvious disease, things in your digestive track may not be working properly. Contributors to this discomfort include low-grade inflammation, low stomach acid, aging of the digestive track, and chronic stress. Signs That I Should Take A Digestive Enzyme: Gas and bloating after meals The sensation that you have food sitting in your stomach (a rock in your gut) Feeling full after eating a few bites of food Undigested food in your stool

Love this plant based digestive enzymes. I have tried many others but this one really works. I take one with small meals or snacks, two for larger meals. I use to get very bloated every time I ate anything not anymore. I also have IBS with constipation it helped with that too. Acid reflux with heartburn gone. Even added with a little weight loss as an added bonus!

These saved me, and I still take them to this day. I never felt better
I became very ill not too long ago. I was put on very harsh Intravenous antibiotics and then oral antibiotics that totally destroyed my stomach. After treatment I was no longer able to eat meats or dairy because it would cause severe stomach discomfort. I spoke to my doctor and he suggested going on a pro-biotic and digestive enzyme routine. These saved me, and I still take them to this day. I never felt better

I had a major surgery that removed it (along with a few other organs like my gallbladder and appendix
So, here's a weird fact about me: I don't have a pancreas. Most people don't know that it's possible to live without your pancreas, but it is! I had a major surgery that removed it (along with a few other organs like my gallbladder and appendix!) - the cells from my pancreas were inserted into my liver, and now my liver functions as both my liver & pancreas, so I'm not diabetic. Cool, right? Anyway, prior to my pancreas removal, I knew very little about digestive enzymes. I was diagnosed with Chronic Pancreatitis in 2012 (which is why I eventually needed the surgery), but even then, none of my doctors explained digestive enzymes to me. I had no idea how important they are.Turns out that we need digestive enzymes to break down our food and to absorb the nutrients. Without them, we would basically be eating empty foods.. we wouldn't derive any nourishment or vitamins from them. Now that my pancreas is gone, I have to take prescription digestive enzymes. They are much higher than this supplement here, but that's due to the fact that my body makes zero enzymes on its own.Recently my fiance began having stomach issues. He was frequently bloated and complained of nausea and stomach pain. He also had some labs come back that showed he was deficient in Vitamin D and B. Because of everything we learned about the importance of digestive enzymes throughout my surgery and recovery, we decided that maybe an over-the-counter enzyme supplement would benefit him. This supplement is very pure with no preservatives or fillers, and it contains 18 various enzymes. My fiance noticed in the first couple of days that food no longer was sitting his stomach - this was a complaint he often voiced - that it felt like "food is just sitting there". He's experienced a lot less bloating since taking this, and he no longer requires nausea medication. He's been so impressed by the results that he now takes it on a daily basis. I'm so happy that we found something that helps him, and I'm relieved because I feel like he'll have less health issues in the future now that he's taking these and properly absorbing his food.I did receive this product for free. However, my opinions and reviews are always unbiased and honest. I never promote products that I don't absolutely love.
