Very sturdy and trustworthy Mount!
I bought this as a quick-to-set-up alternative to my caged rig, so that I could mount my monitor - a fairly weighty Atomos Ninja V - straight to the hot shoe of my Sony A7S III for run and gun jobs.My first concern before buying was how secure and trustworthy this would be holding the screen - and I have to say that after just one use I knew I could rely on this. It grips naturally yet very firmly to the cold shoe - it doesn't feel like it's causing damage or stress to the hot shoe just by being attached. My second concern would be how well it grips the screen - well, it has locator pins as well as the screw thread, so it attaches and unattached super easy, stays lined up, and again feels solid and very trustworthy. My third concern was how easy it was to adjust one attached, as I have another variant on my full cage rig, as that is a slow adjuster that needs a tool to do so, not great for on the fly adjustments. Not the case with this one - easy, no tool needed and locks incredibly solidly. These smallrig items are always worth the cost over lesser items in my experience. Recommended.

Very well made
A lovely piece of engineering, with a feeling of quality. Not the usual plastic rubbish

This is the monitor mount you need
Love this upgrade from smallrig. The old version you had to change tension of the tilt with an Allen key - a real pain to be honest - but this version is perfect - means no matter what weight you put on it (within reason) you can find just the right amount of tension that you need. And if it starts to loosen you can fix in a blink. Solidly made and a good price. I’ll def buy again.

Simple effective design
I needed this to connect my 7 Atomos monitor to the Smallrig top handle. Obviously it fits well enough and the build quality is good. It has a nice finish and doesn’t look cheap even though it is relatively inexpensive. I have only given it 4 stars because of a small gripe but the locator pin which prevents it twisting has to be carefully aligned. It is spring loaded, presumably so it can be used on monitors without a locator hole. However this doesn’t mean it can be attached with the pin misaligned and resting on the edge of the whole. Not a problem if you realise but it means you have to double check each time it’s attached to your monitor.

Best I've ever bought
Always reluctant to leave reviews, because at the time of purchase or a few months after. Everything is great... then stops working etc in my experience.I have bought several cheaper cold shoe mounts over the years and they were garbage! The Smallrig mount initially looks like a lot of money for a mount but trust me it's actually cheaper in the long run.It secures to the camera, or any hotshoe TIGHTLY without loosening, falling off with anything attached to it, or coming to pieces in your hands after a few uses.I now have a few things from Smallrig. They are starting to be my 'Go to' company for all my videography accessory needs.

Excellent product
I use this to mount a monitor to the cage on my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. Its built to a very high standard and is easy to deploy. I really appreciate that the holes is the tightening wheels as you can put a hex tool through it to provide a little extra torque to really ensure that the connection is made tight. My only wish is that if it had an extra locating pin on the top plate - but at the end of the day, when using the hex tool to tighten the fixing, it's probably not necessary anyway.

Solid as a rock !
I use this with a monopod, with an SLR or scope on top; the spring loaded pin serves no use for either !The two screw rings are easy to get really tight just using fingers alone, and there are holes you could put a lever in, to get things even tighter. The best thing is the "natural" stiffness of the tilting head - no lens bashing against metal, here.It takes little effort to lock/unlock in position - then it is rigid - brilliant !The hotshoe does not remove, but has the required quarter inch thread in it.A kilogram of expensive kit feels secure as I carry it on the mounted monopod between tasks. If the plastic thumbscrew stays intact, it will last forever.

Small and compact
Pretty well designed like all small rig equipment and has made my rig a lot more compact
