It is an animal rights movement, and animal rights do not get a mention at all in the article. I have complained independently to OUP and received no satisfactory response. Tragically, some people will actually be influenced by this misleading propaganda and continue to fund the enslavement of animals as a result of this reading. The numbers are quite huge, given that this is a leading textbook throughout much of the world. Shame on you, OUP. Find someone better informed and with some empathy for the animals to write your exercises. You should refer to your own literature... search "Oxford new estimates environmental cost of food".
