How many mg. of EPA and DHA is in each teaspoon (which is the recommended dose)?

Per Teaspoon (the recommended dose) there is 500mg of DHA and 400mg of EPA.

I'm concerned with the product getting very hot (and going rancid) during transit in the summer. Has this been a problem for anyone?

Yes, just today cracked open a bottle that had been in storage for 1.75 years, and, sadly, it's rancid. Have to wonder how weather affected it in spite of being sealed. Would love to know if there's any sort of backup guarantee for this. The freshness date stamped on the bottle indicates it should have been good for two more years, so am pretty disappointed.

What is the difference between the "Natural" and the "Unflavored" varieties.

I have tried both lemon and unflavored. After the comparison I determined to always order lemon :). The lemon is a very light lemongrass (vs. lemon fruit) neutral flavor. The unflavored had a bit more of a (fish) taste than I expected, and adding my own lemon flavoring was not as successful as I had hoped.

As far as the vitamins A and D, are they still in their natural state or were they added back in synthetic form after processing the cod liver oil?

The label gives the following information. Vitamin A (from cod oil and retinyl parmitate) 850 IU. Vitamin D3 (from cod liver oil andcholecalciferol) 400 IU. Vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopherol and mixed tocopherols). These amounts a per teaspoon. I take a tablespoon every day so these amounts would be tripled. I also take about 8000 IU vitamin E every day from various other supplements.Also 400 IU vitamin E as mixed tocopherols. Hope this helps.

Lemon flavored version is a plus

This is THE best cod liver oil on the market...the price however, has more than doubled since I started using the product. I continue to purchase it due to it's quality, taste, and health benefits.

Great Quality with No Fishy Taste!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I've been using Carlson cod liver oil in lemon flavor for years, taking one teaspoon daily. The lemon makes it taste great—there's no fishy flavor or aftertaste at all! My husband, who dislikes fish, has no trouble taking it every day. It’s a fantastic source of omega-3s that we both need! This is a bit spendy because it's made well and comes from lands faraway. It tastes delicious. I take it myself. I think a child would enjoy the taste too. Don't think you'd have trouble administering to a little one!

Tastes great!

I closed my eyes and held my breath when I took my first spoonful thinking that it would smell fishy. However I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted great. It’s infused with lemon zest oil and it tastes very nice! I won’t be holding my nose when I take it everyday now.

Good consistent cod liver oil; quality product

I've used Carlson's cod liver oil many times over the years for general health benefits. I tend to prefer the cod liver oil over fish oil for the added vitamin A and D even though might be bit higher Omega 3 in the fish oil. Taste of the lemon flavored is good once you are used to it. Had some orange and strawberry oils in past (not sure who) and were not that pleasant.I like having the larger 16 ounce size as lasts 3 months or more (when forget to take a spoonful). Keep it right inside the frig door as a reminder to take every morning.Other than I wish the price wasn't so high I don't have any negatives to say - I'll definitely keep buying Carlson's cod liver oil
