VERY different to previous releases, highly recommend anyway.
In my opinion, the best Yakuza game. Fans may be turned off upon hearing about the gameplay being a turn-based RPG rather than a real-time action game, but it has one of the best battle systems out there. Brilliant story too, and one of the only games to strike the perfect balance between expression and realism in character animation. (Anyone who is 100% sure they'd rather have a game like Yakuza 0-6, check out the Judgement games. They're made by the same studio and are essentially the same gameplay)

Enjoying this game, More than I thought I would.
I bought this game as it was much cheaper buying the disk off Amazon then it was paying Sony's extortional rate on the PSN store (as usual). I think I paid £27.99 and as usual PSN was listing it for around £49.99. There are very few ps5 games that interest me currently so if I can a chance on a game for around half price I'm willing to give it a shot. (although I do prefer digital releases for convenience I don't understand the logic behind being able to get a physical copy a lot cheaper then one saved on a Sony server). Anyway I didn't know what to expect with this game I've never played a yakuza release before. I was underwhelmed at first but I must admit I'm enjoying it more now I'm around 40 hours in I've done nearly all the side quests (still a few that haven't appeared yet) and I believe I'm on the final chapter. The game is very cut scene heavy which was great at first but gets a little repetitive as it goes on at least for me, a lot of cut scenes cannot be progressed by pressing the X key so you are forced to watch them. There is a lot of content in the game, casinos / board games / arcades / mini golf / batting range (baseball) / mario kart spinoffs / people to meet relationships to build / Jobs to apply for / tests to take / a separate mini company management game, that's good for building a healthy amount of spending money. Plus other activities I've no doubt forgot to mention. Overall quite a lot to get your teeth into (as any good game should offer). The story doesn't take itself to seriously and at times is quite funny. The fight scenes are turn based, That took a while for me to get used to but they're okay it just slows things down a little. The game is not in HDR but it still looks good, although the slot machines are in HDR I've noticed as my TV flips to HDR when I played them (LG C1). I must admit though I'm not fond of the slots I've played so far. The game is locked to 4k@60hz. I can't think of anything else to say, I'll no doubt edit more in if I do think of anything else later on. I hope this brief review helps. Buy with confidence.

FF + Yakuza
If you are a fan of the Yakuza games you will probably like this. It has the same charm and amount of things to do that you expect. The new combat system likens back to the original RPG games of Final Fantasy where everything is turn based, luckily the random fights you encounter can be seen on the map so you won't get ambushed by accident. If you haven't played a Yakuza game before prepare for long cutscenes but a worthwhile story and a game world with hours of extra minigames to complete.

A pleasant surprise
The change of fighting mechanics between this and the kiryu saga of games did make me question how much I would enjoy this but after diving in, you won't care any more. The game is still very much a Yakuza game with the same wacky side quests and interesting characters. The story is also what you would expect from a game from the yakuza franchise with a few cameos along the way.

Phenomenal game
It's my first in the series and I'm blown away by it, I've loved every moment and I'm 90 hours in and still haven't finished the main story or side quests.

Ci ho giocato 60h e penso di essere a metà. Tantissimi sotto giochi, missioni ed attività parallele. Per gli amanti della serie yakuza ma anche per chi non ci ha mai giocato. Consigliato

Game arrived in perfect condition and works great. I am loving it so far. A lot of dialogue so if you're not into that 🤷 but you can always just skip it. I'm a fan of turn based combat so I like that. The characters are all likeable. The game is so silly. It's made me laugh at the ridiculousness. I would definitely recommend it and I plan on buying the next one (:.

É un gioco con una bella storia che si guarda come se fosse un film. Non mi è piaciuto tanto invece lo sviluppo dei combattimenti che risultano essere ad un certo punto troppo monotoni.
