Waterproof Liner for Big Barker Dog Bed - Giant - Headrest Edition

I’ve read reviews where customers have complained about the fit and were unable to tell the top from the bottom. The company is now attaching a small label to the top end. You can barely see it in these photos on the bottom left. That is the head of the bed. I found it easier to lay out the cover on the floor; then lay the bed on top of the cover head bolster with the head rest down. Then I fitted the cover over the bottom of the bed matching the corner seams. Gradually move up the bed, fitting it in until you reach the top. It’s not easy because the foam is “sticky”, it grabs the cover and the cover doesn’t “slide” on, it has to be pressed and worked with. This takes a little effort, but once the bed is fitted into the cover, it’s great. It took me about 15 minutes to get it put together. The fit is great. At first I thought it was going to be too tight, but it’s not all all. Once it’s on it is roomy. Also, it will make it much easier to change the cover.

I knew I wanted this waterproof liner to protect our Big Barker bed from doggy odor, drool and any accident that might happen. I was concerned about the price as my experience with waterproof covers on twin mattresses (used as dog beds) was that the plastic split and cracked after a few months and never quite fit well. This liner looks and feels nothing like those! Because we ordered the biggest Big Barker, it took two of us to wrestle this onto the bed, but it fits nicely under the normal cover. There's also no crinkling noise. I don't anticipate ever having to replace this one!Update: Since buying our first Big Barker (giant w/ headrest) almost a year ago, we've since added two more XL headrest beds with waterproof liners. We also keep cotton mattress pads and sheets on our dog beds for ease in laundering. The beautiful tailored covers that come with the beds are sturdy, but I don't know if they'd hold up to our frequent washing, bleaching and drying. Every person in the family has at some point napped on the beds with the dogs and the liners aren't noticeable at all (not crinkly or hot), and I'm happy knowing that the foam is protected from odors if one of the dogs were to vomit or have an accident.2nd update: We currently have 4 Big Barker beds in our house plus one more for our daughter's visiting dog! Three of the beds, covers and waterproof liners are over five years old and still look and feel like new. The liners have not cracked or deteriorated in any way.

This liner is definitely worth ordering - I swear by it! I know things can get costly, especially if your ordering in a bundle/from the start - mattress, liner & cover but if you're going to order the bed, maker sure to add this to your list! It does exactly as promised!! It truly is water proof. I have a cat, who every once in a blue moon, gets the little thought in his head to pee on the dog's bed (regardless that his litter box is clean & doesn't have an infection - I eliminated any possible explanation). I've thrown out a number of previous inexpensive dog beds bought at the pet store due to this and prior to getting this bed, I had a cooling mat for my German Shepherd to use as a bed. But as he's getting older I wanted to give him more support. The cat who shall remain nameless to prevent public shamming LOL, although I'm sure he wouldn't be bothered either way (mind you he can be a love, if I'm being honest) has peed on this bed 4-5 times that I had it and thank goodness it was lined! All I had to do was wipe it up a bit as it doesn't soak thru and wash the cover & liner. The bed was saved and so was my cat ;) ha ha. It's easy to wash and put back on. You never know what might happen, so definitely get this with the bed - it's a great investment!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This was a complete waste of my money! This darn thing is not 100% waterproof, more like 0%. I have a 10yr old dog that has health issues that causes him to drink lots of water and he has started to have accidents, peeing on the bed while laying down. The bed has this cover and the outer cover on it. Pee soaks through both and goes straight to the expensive foam. Did I mention, this thing is not easy to get on and off either?.

I love the bed. Worth every penny. If only the fog felt the same way. Lol. I left his old bed out in case he didnt like the knew one. He still sleeps on the old one and I don’t want to get rid of the old one if he is more comfortable on it. At 14 yrs old he is allowed to be crotchety. He is an 85 lb staffy and had been the absolute best dog ever. ‘Boogie” - short for Boogie-Monster- has brought nothing but joy and laughter to our family since day one. The thought of his arthritis and hip problems bringing him pain breaks my heart. We bought the new bed hoping he would sleep better. But - he is a senior and it may just be that he prefers his smell on the old one. He has used it a few times and I’m certain he would use it if I took the old one away. He used to sleep in my bed but it’s dangerous for him now to get up and down from it. I would buy this bed again. My lab husky mix loves it so it is still getting used. The pommy can take it or leave it but then again - with 3 legs and one eye what does he know anyway?

This is an awesome waterproof cover for our big barker dog bed! It keeps it clean and nice on the inside. We take the cover off and wash it frequently and its comforting to know that all of that grime, stink and slobber of a dog bed isnt getting past the washable cover into the core of the bed. I am confidant that this dog bed will last 15 years or longer. All of the big barker stuff we have purchased is very high quality and definitely worth the investment. When I read this in the description "100% Waterproof liner will protect your foam against all accidents, spills, and odors. Made with hospital grade material, no liquid will ever make it through the liner. You could pour a gallon of water on your dog bed, wait two weeks for the water to evaporate, check the foam, and still find it to be bone dry.Do not accept anything less. This liner is 100% water proof and made in the USA." I had to make sure that our investment in this dog bed was protected by this cover. Definitely Recommend! Great products and a great company!
