These things are great.
Using as pure mid-range. Brings the proper snap to snare drum, very clean guitar quality, vocals lose no distinction. Save yer money. These cover a lot of ground, heavy magnets. For fun, I now have 4.

A good buy...
Great sound, great look, be careful hooking these up, the terminals are easy to break, so handle with care...

Good midrange driver
I bought it for the following reasons: affordable price, paper cone, sealed back, with a pretty impressive 100W RMS power and no grid on the front side unlike a Goldwood GM-65/8I bought to replace my old 3 way "Radiotechnika S90" speaker's midrange driver 15GD-11A (made in USSR) result excellent replacement! There is no reason to compare, they are different classes: Pyle Pro PDMR5-5" is a well done midrange driver with great sound quality; 15GD-11A is single piece of metal, paper and rubber with sound like a phone handset. So I'm very pleased with my purchase. Now I'll get rid of my "Raduotehnika S90" and will build my own 3-wey speaker cabinet, definitely it will be with Pyle Pro PDMR5-5"***(3 month later) I already done speaker cabinet and the result you can see on the customer images.I use crossover 2-nd order with slope 12 dB/octave. Crossover frequency points: 750 Hz and 5 Khz. (bandwidth could be slightly wider, but I left a some margin)Frequency response is almost linear and balanced as far as I can hear (opposed my previous driver, which had terrible resonance overtone at 4,5 khz.) Sensitivity 92dB is more than enough for most of cases.I think this product has a good price/quality ratio and I would recomend it for most of buyers.sorry for my bad English

The speaker is fine but, the info said it comes with a custom grill it does NOT. False information....

Quite impressed!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I was reluctant to buy these speakers based on the current history of Pyle. Quality has been poor the past 20yrs. I took a chance because it’s hard to find a 5 inch sealed back speaker anywhere, even harder to find a 5 inch speaker with RMS watts over 60. The RMS of these are 100w.I am throughly impressed they handle every bit of 150w with no distortion. These are not made for any bass. They are midrange speakers only! They worked awesome for my Bluetooth build.

Used for my surround sound from some vintage speaker cabinets!!
My 1972 Advent speakers cones were rotted away so I purchased these and when I tell you these were the perfect one for these vintage boxes you would have to be here to hear them!! They sound so good!! I had to purchase two more to use as midrange speakers for my Fisher 1976 cabinets!! These speakers uses a 15 inch woofer with these as a midrange and horn tweeters and the original Fisher crossover from that era!! Again..you would have to be here to hear them!!

Very good mid-range speaker.
This speaker is slightly smaller than the typical 5.25 inch speaker. Excellent value for the money. The description is correct in that it is a mid-range speaker. Do not expect booming bass sound from this speaker.

BAM....... WOW, , these just arrived and got slammed in the cool build ( watch for users pics on it) LOUD!
Boy, I thought PYLE now days Equals JUNK, Took a chance and bought 2 of these 5" midranges and when you crank up the old school Onkyo 75 watt with these in with a pair of 12 inch subs, Marantz crossovers and a pair of Sansui horn tweeters this set up will blow you socks off.I took a 8 foot sheet of ply wood, made a box 8 foot long and 14" square ( big long rectangle) with a divider in the center and installed all odd ball parts.THE BEST SOUND INSULATION IS HARBOR FREIGHT FLOOR PADDING kit Glued in the back and sides. It has incredible dynamics. Then a 97" long 16" wide melamine shelf 3/4" thick ( white shelf board) with the woofers, tweeters and midranges mounted i it then trim, speaker cloth and porting. The box, is mounted in my shop over my row of tool boxes and powered by a 1977 Onkyo stereo. The sound, POWERFUL and Very clear. The cost, under $100 for a cool system.
