BLOWS Logitech and GoPro Hero 8 Black out of the water; best budget live stream, PERIOD!
Cons:- It only has MPEG compression.- Limited CS-mount lens selection.- CS-Mount lenses focus that is more sensitive and harder to focus.Pros:- Small.- Lightweight.- Excellent quality video.- USB 3.0 with MJPEG format which is better for multi-cam setups on laptops with limited USB ports.- There are a lot of cheap and really good CS-mount lenses.Noise and Color:Mokose updated the UC40M webcam, the newer model has better colors. Out of the box, the colors and details in the blacks are the best I've found anywhere near this price. I have a lot of expensive cameras, of course, has less noise when you zoom in on an A7C or ZV-E10 with the 6K downscaling. The white balance is also a lot better on a mirrorless or DSLR, and Sony knocks it out of the park with their new cameras. As long as you're using 5500K daylight light bulbs this will will white balance well, but the the white balance settings aren't as good the light temperature listed in OBS configuration options certainly doesn't match to real life.Document Camera Use:The lens is rectilinear so it's suitable for use as a document camera. I love using a mic scissor stand for a document camera, and I was hoping to use my mirrorless on one but sadly it's too heavy and even with a heavy-duty stand it still wobbles too much to be usable. This camera is light enough to not wobble on the scissor stand.Lens:The new UCM40 model lens is rectilinear, meaning the lines are straight. This looks great most of the times and front-facing but sometimes the barrel distortion looks better at an angle. It's an M12 lens on a CS-mount that requires an IR cut filter. If you don't use one the image will look purple from the IR. There is a difference between an IR corrected lens and an IR cut filter on a lens. For outdoor you will need an IR cut filter, but indoors you will notice minimal color changes due to low IR compared to sunlight unless the light has a lot of UV. In sunlight, you will notice the IR shifting the colors. You can use double-sided tape to attach an IR filter to a lens. If you do make sure you don't put fingerprints on the IR filter. To get the lens off there is a screw on the bottom of the CS lens mount base. The Image format is also confusing. Image format means it can focus on a square with a diameter of 1/2.5 inch, which is 0.4 inches, for this sensor. This means that you can use any image format that is larger than this, for instance, 1/2.3, and it will work, but you cannot use a 1/3 image format because it would crop the image. Th 1/1.7 lenses work with this camera.

Good at what it does... but has a big quirk
First let me say, the MOKOSE image quality is very good. The manual focus works well. My only complaint is that the screw mount is a non-standard size. Supposedly it is a standard tripod mount thread. I own a half dozen tripods and this camera did not fit any of them. To make it worse, I could not find an adapter that would adapt to it. I bought two of these cameras and both had the same mount issue. I ended up using a microphone stand to standard camera mount and then forced the MOKOSE camera on to the adapter - knowing full well that it would ruin the brass threads on the bottom of the camera. But once on, it stayed tight.

Great little camera, but wide angle
I am using it primarily with my HP laptop in online teaching applications. Of course the image is better than the laptop camera. But is a lot better than most other third party cameras as well. The image is razor sharp, the MANUAL focus ring is easily dialed in, unlike some other cameras and the lag is very low, even at 4k. The cube like format is cute, small and light. It works seemlessly with OBS and the features are easily tweaked in the config settings of OBS (all features are accessible and not grayed out). So I really like this camera. The only gripe I have is the wide ange of the lens. I now wish I had gotten the the zoom lens configuration. I read the angle is supposed to be 85. But it looks a lot wider than that to be honest, maybe closer to 120. I have to have the camera about a foot away from my face, held up with an extention rod from the tripod, which is possible because of its size and weight. Normally I would have subtracted a star, but I love the camera too much.

Lots of unforced errors.
I'm a stop motion filmmaker, testing a few mini UVC cameras for on-set use. This one is promising but there are several design flaws:1. The 1/4" tripod mounting holes are too big. It feels like they might be tapped for 7mm screws instead. This is absolutely inexcusable.2. The same holes are mis-drilled into the beveled part of the aluminum case. This is a rookie industrial design mistake. Put the holes in the center of the body, please. Yes, I know they're the same distance from the back as in MOKOSE's Auto Focus version, but that's no excuse.3. Why use a klunky USB-A port on such a miniature device? USB-C would be much less awkward and ugly. As is, the cable weighs much more than the camera and the USB-A male connector adds a full 3 inches to the depth. Dumb.4. A blue USB cable is an equally dumb choice for devices meant to be stealthy.5. The focus ring is really wobbly. That makes the camera feel cheap and unreliable.Okay, now the good news: This camera produces better 4K images out-of-the-box than any of the others I've tested so far. So just fix your industrial design problems and you've got a clear winner.

Nice Webcam, but very wide angle
This is a nice camera. It looks good, easy to use, great picture. Worked immediately right out of the box. There is no auto focus, which can be good or bad depending on your application. Unfortunately, the angle was too wide for my application, so I ended up returning it; not the sellers fault though, it states the view angle right in the description. I may try their other camera with the zoom lens.

If you need a open view and fixed focused camera this can be a starter camera
I was using this for redisplaying laptop screens and it just was not crisp. Clearly, it's more for open distant recording and where you don't need super crisp lines.I notice you can replace the basic lens and connect another external lens, I tried one, and the crisp lines did not improve. This is a good wide-angle web camera. I used it with OBS on a windows 11 PC.There is no microphone so you will need to add your own mic if you want to record sound.
