Will it sew on leather?

I bought the Singer needles for denim and heavy material and was able to sew through leather without a problem. It is a basic model, but I have a quilting and clothing repair store and have used my Simple for 3 or 4 years now without complaint. I'm sure I'll get a new machine eventually, but this one is still going so not any time soon.

Can this machine sew denim and canvas (heavy duty) materials?

Yes. I sew denim, but have not used canvas as a material on this machine.

does this have a top drop in bobbin

No. The bobbin is first placed into a holder, then inserted vertically into the machine under the needle.

Where does the auxiliary spool pin fit? On the bobbin winder? There's no hole on the top of the housing.

The location of the Auxiliary spool pin hole, on the Singer Simple model 3232 sewing machine, is indicated in the instruction manual on page 4, number 16. There is a filler cap in this hole that you will need to remove in order to insert the Auxiliary spool pin. The filler cap appears to be just a small round circle. You will see a small hole in the filler cap where you insert a straight pin to pop it out of the machine.
