Will probably gain weight now
I'm using this on my Weber natural gas grill. So far, I've made pancakes, hash browns, smash burgers, cheese steak, fried rice, bacon, eggs - see a trend? I've been using it a lot. I've been eating a lot too. This is cast iron and heavy. The finish on the cast iron is not the smoothest I've ever seen, but once seasoned, I was able to cook over-easy eggs. I've not had anything stick yet. I have been either using bacon grease (probably have cooked 3 pounds in the last week) or peanut oil to cook on. You can use canola, avocado, or whatever you like. I apply a small amount of oil after I clean it before turning off the heat. For cleaning, I've been using paper towels, water, and a dough scraper (ordered separate for use with the griddle, basically just search for a griddle kit and you'll find spatulas, bottles, etc that are convenient). I scrape the griddle as clean as I can, remove any debris (like cooked on food), and then apply water. This does have a trough to collect grease/food stuff. It does not drain. I use paper towels to soak up the grease or water. For my grill, I'm glad it does not drain at the bottom as I'd have a grease fire to deal with. Few other final thoughts. The griddle was not warped and is thick - seems like you'd have to really screw things up to warp this iron. It takes a little while to preheat. I light my grill and preheat this on lower to medium low. I'd recommend an infrared thermometer to find out what temp your griddle is at. My grill says high/medium/low, but those are not useful for cooking. Overall, this is a great griddle and my family is getting a lot of use out of it. Well worth the money.

Best pretend Blackstone grill!
I don't have room for a whole other grill so I thought the next best thing would be to turn my gas grill into a pretend Blackstone. IT WORKS! I'm so happy with it. I've made smash burgers and grilled chicken, potatoes & zucchini. It's fitting the bill for what I expected. I have not had the 4 burners on high, only on medium. I had food stick the first time but not the second time. I recommend this grill.

Rock Solid - Must buy
I have been looking for a large cast iron griddle for a couple of years. Searched ebay for Griswold #9 and #10 griddles, but couldn't find one for the right price/condition. I have looked at every piece of cast iron and steel I could find and decided to take a chance on this one. Background: I have a professional 6 burner gas Capital stove to use this on and would think it would work on any stove, but it will overhang most grates. I don't see this being a problem if you want a large surface. The grate came seasoned but I seasoned it some more to ensure its non-stick features. Rub bacon grease on it a couple of times with a paper towel and put it in an oven at 450 degrees to season it for 20 minutes or so. You will probably need a 36"/6 burner stove with an oven to accept its width. I recommend measuring before you buy for fit in oven, grill, and storage and remember this is heavy. To clean, just wipe while its still hot with paper towels. If you must scrub just run it under hot water with a brush with no soap while it is hot and it good as new. However, it is just as easy to clean on a hot stove top right after cooking. It cooks just about anything just like a professional griddle in a restaurant. Pancakes and grilled cheese sandwiches are outstanding. It is a huge surface for bacon or cooking in zones at different temperatures. I plan to buy another one for my outdoor grill for steaks as I don't want to mess up the cooking surfaces of either side. This is a must buy for an outdoor grill or a 6 burner cast iron grate gas stove top. Buy it, you will be happy.

Great griddle!
I have used this griddle 5-6 times since we received about a month and half ago. And I can say, it is now an inseparable part of our kitchen. Sundays are our royal breakfast days and I was looking for a large griddle so that we can cook hash browns and bacons quickly in large quantities. I have a small two burner rectangular griddle that takes left 1/3 of my cooktop, I was looking for a larger one to occupy the remaining 2/3 cooktop on the right over remaining 3 burners. I was specifically looking for LODGE brand griddle (because they are produced in the USA and quality is exceptional. All my other cast iron products are LODGE. We have boycotted non-stick and aluminium cookware many years ago. Only cast iron and stainless steel). Unfortunately Lodge does not make anything of this size. This was the only griddle that I found in the specific size I was looking for. I was bit scared after reading some reviews about how they cracked and exploded. But with no other alternative in sight, I bit the bullet and ordered this one. The product is solid, heavy. Quality is very good. The size was perfect. After sitting next to smaller recangular griddle, it fully occupies remaining cooktop on the right and hangs outside about 4 inches, which is perfect to put aside cooked items. And boy! there is so much heat! We can cook so many things so fast! My wife and I are very very pleased. I am not cast-iron expert, but many years ago I had read somewhere that cast iron does not handle rapid expansion and contraction very well. Much like glass. So it is important that you heat the cast iron cookware gradually from low heat to medium/high heat and never pour cold water on hot surface. Heat it gradually and let it cool gradually. Once it goes through a number of expansion and contraction cycles, eventually it will be able to handle rapid heating and cooling. But at least when a cast iron product is new, it should not be subjected rapid heating and cooling. I have followed this rule with all of our cast iron products. It is also possible that the units that have cracked or exploded happened to be lemon. At least the unit that I have does not show any quality control or production quality issue. It is a very well built, solid product! There is one thing about this griddle though, it is heavy. I mean super heavy!!! If it slips through hands and falls on feet, it will crush the bones. No exaggeration! I absolutely DO NOT allow my wife to handle it. I set it up, I clean it, I put it away. Because of its size and weight, cleaning is cumbersome. It is nearly impossible to clean at kitchen sink. I clean it in backyard. You should consider this part carefully before buying this griddle. Cooking is huge joy, but cleaning is huge pain! So the bottomline, my griddle is going great. We couldn't be happier.

I should have bought stainless steel.
I have never had cast iron. Read up on using it and the care involved. Watched a few videos on seasoning and cleaning. Thought I was ready for this and excited to save the money over buying the great looking stainless griddle. After seasoning with Crisco, the thing is super sticky. Yeah, I did the 350 degree thing, heating it first, light coat, all that. Bottom line is, my time is worth more than the care this thing is going to take. It's very heavy to handle (I'm 6'5", a big guy) and it's just a pain. I will update this when I actually try to cook on it. Figure I'll burn off all the Crisco on the barbeque, wash it good (again) then season with Canola oil this time. I know you cast iron people are probably saying about now, "well he just doesn't know how to use it right". You're right, but the point is I don't like the time it's taking just to get ready to finally cook something. Very disappointed in my purchase, and you will be too unless you already like cooking with cast iron. The product is great, high quality, looks super, has a great full width grease tray on the smooth side, good grill ridges on the steak side, everything about it is super......but what a pain! Just too much effort for the reward. ....and now I'm back after awhile. Burnt off the remaining Crisco on the barbeque at 400 deg for about an hour. It's really nice now, not sticky. Used spray Canola oil and grilled up some bacon, did perfect. SO... I'm getting used to it, starting to like it, just took awhile I guess. I think it's going to be worth the learning curve and those who swear by cast iron cookwear have probably gone thru this same process? I doubt if the stainless steel griddle would have cooked as good. This is so even, just take your time to heat it up first. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase now. The price was great and I've found a perfect place to store it when not on the grill. BTW, I am using this over a 5 burner stainless steel gas barbeque. This makes it so versatile so I can do all the breakfast grilling outdoors now. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and sausage. We have a popular campsite now! I am glad I purchased this now.

Large cooking surface
I lay this griddle on top of my gas grill to create a Blackstone-ish type grill. I must agree with the other reviews that say the surface is rough and not smooth. However, I am not disappointed. With time and a build up seasoning I expect it will get smoother and stick-free. The griddle has some weight to it - about 22-25 pounds. I do not have much trouble handling it but I understand the reviews that saw its difficult to handle. To me, the best feature is the grease drip catch. It make frying bacon or any other oil/fat producing foods so much easier. The price is an absolute disappointment. I paid well over $85 and I hated having spent that much money on a cast iron grill plate. But there is no other griddle of this type so I was stuck spending so much money. In the end, I am nearly satisfied with the purchase. I do have some quirks with the griddle I do not like but I'll keep those to myself.

Great Upgrade for the BBQ Grill
I bought this last year. I like the reversible feature. It does take a 'long time' to preheat but once it's up to temp it does a great job! It's important to season it properly before use. It fits the profile of our Weber grill almost exactly. I haven't had any trouble with food sticking and it doesn't warp in the heat. Cleanup is pretty straightforward. It's quite heavy as you would expect of a cast iron griddle.

Very Good Product
I bought this for use on my gas grill and it works like a charm. I wanted a griddle, but didn't want another large grill on our patio, this was a great solution. We leave it on all the time. It's so easy to go out and cook anything like a few strips of bacon and not have a big mess to clean up in the house. I would recommend this.

I read another person call this a beast ! I agree.. just cooked my breakfast , I did prime it a little before I used it just in case .. so far no crack speared like all the other comments worked liked a cast iron should.. I love the size of cooking space I have smaller ones they don’t do the job .. if the quality changes I will come back and update !

great quality
I have had this for a few months now, and used it many times, from breakfast on my BBQ to smash burgers, Very happy with the quality it is a good heavy piece. Much better solution for me rather then buying a whole other unit for this purpose.

Second purchase
I originally purchased this same grill in Sept. 2015. It covered 2 of the 3 burners on my Camp Chef stove and is the best accessory you can have when using your grill! I noticed a small (5") crack that had developed. Didn't affect the use of the grill, but as I figured it may get larger, I purchased a replacement. Same grill. I put it on the stove an heated it on medium heat, then used some Cast Iron Conditioner to season it before first use. The next day, I was warming the grill up for use and hears a loud bang. It cracked! Same spot as the previous grill, only I hadn't even used it yet! I am contacting Amazon to see if they will replace it. Hope a third time is lucky! If not, I will purchase a different model as there are others out there!

Perfect for Camp Chef 2 or 3 burner stoves
Perfect fit on Camp Chef 3 burner (Denali Pro 3x, the one Costco Canada sold). Only concern we had was whether it would fit with the single burner cast iron grill that came with our stove. I couldn't find a straight answer online when I researched it before I bought. I can confirm it is a perfect fit when used over the left two elements (original single on the right element). Excellent quality, even heat distribution, easy cleanup (clean like you would a seasoned cast iron skillet. Just water or salt and water if needed. DON'T use soap unless you want your next 10 meals tasting like 'Palmolive'). I am a Scouts Canada leader, and we used it when we had 80 visiting Scottish Scouts. We were able to feed them quickly and efficiently with the help of this griddle. I highly recommend to any Scouts/Guides group or any large groups or organization.
