Solid. Well organized. Creativity needed.
I'm very happy with this product. The wood and construction is solid. No wobbles here. Love the color coordination - hammer/nails are yellow, screws/driver are blue, wrench/bolts are purple. BUT your will need to supply your own creativity. It's a little hard to figure out WHAT to do. Plan on spending some time with your kids (or by yourself) dreaming up ideas and showing them how to use this. I suggest incorporating other toys you already have. Don't be afraid to let 'em bang on this one. It can handle it.

Great workbench
I bought this workbench for my preschool classroom and all the children love using it! When we put the bench together, we discovered that we were missing a part. We called the number on the invoice, told the person what we were missing, and a new piece was shipped to us. Great buy!

The bench itself is solid and doesn't look like it will be coming apart - even after 3 moves in which we did not disassemble it and stacked boxes on top of it. The tools are a different story. The wrench came apart within a month. The hammer head came off but I was able to repair it by driving a long screw through the top into the handle - which, in my opinion, should have been done in the first place. We still have the hammer and some of the screws, as well as the boards that came with it, but I just got rid of the other tools. Not well made. We replaced the other tools with some Melissa and Doug toolsets, which aren't the best quality either but they cost 1/10 of the price. Also, Treehaus doesn't sell replacement parts. If you buy a wooden toolbench for durability or to reduce your consumption of resources, you should probably look elsewhere. Toys that can't be fixed and don't last are not environmentally friendly.

Excellent concept...paint chips and nails break.
This is a wonderful toy! We got it for Christmas for our two boys and they absolutely love it. It was also easy to put together. My complaint is that the paint chips easily...and you would expect that since the nails and screws were made to be hit and screwed the paint would be more durable. Also, two of the four nails had the heads come off in the first day of play (while using the hammer to pry the nails up). Easily fixed with wood glue...but again, one would expect that it would be built to withstand hammering and prying up since that is the purpose of the nail. Oh well. The bench is fabulous and the boys love it. We also got it at a great price at Bed Bath and Beyond (forty dollars)...so it was definitely worth it. I would have been very disappointed to have payed the Amazon price and then had these problems.Overall, the boys love it and we got a good deal...so I'm happy with my purchase.
