MJS HD Radio USB PC Interface Cable

I don't understand the issues people have with installing this cable. Plug it in while connected to the internet and windows 7 goes online, grabs the driver, and installs it no problem.My excellent Directed HD Tuner is even better now using this cable! Don't hesitate!

Bought this to control a Directed HD Radio from my Nexus 7 Android tablet. Shows up as a standard USB serial port. Of course, I wrote software to control the radio, since there's no existing app to do that. Briefly tried the included software on Windows as well, it worked just fine. No complaints.

This uses a non-standard usb to serial driver. The driver works for other usb to serial adapters, but if this one is not installed first it will not work. Basically, you want to install windows, run all the updates, then install this, then you can install things like gps or bluetooth adapters.

First I'd like to say this seemed to be the only viable product to use to with a vehicle computer system to include AM/FM radio. I would suggest you get a normal USB plug in and boost the antenna via alternative means.This USB product did not work at all. The included CD had no markings, nor instructions as to which of the multiple nondescript named files would activate the USB cable to work. However, after installing ALL of them, the programming to make this product work was not completed. It actually asks you to complete the programming process and basically re-code your own computer to make this start working. I found instructions to complete their programming which consisted of poorly written .PDF files with seemingly 30-40 pages of nonsense.I can not and would not suggest this USB interface cable to anyone. Regardless of your experience level. If you are a C++ developer, you may have less of a challenge then most, but do you really want to reprogram their product and not just do a minor antenna modification of the FM tuners that already work?Also, I contacted them last week. Guess what!? No reply email. Imagine that huh? I now have no quams with reporting a falsy advertised product to the consumer affairs dept, BBB, and the FTC. Good luck to this company....I would take this into serious consideration and look at a different product.
