I highly recommend the Bioptron for accelerating the healing of wounds and ...
I have owned two Bioptron Compact III phototherapy devices, the predecessor version of this model. I highly recommend the Bioptron for accelerating the healing of wounds and bruises, pain reduction, and eliminating skin and nail fungus. For example, by eliminating nail fungus with the Bioptron, you can avoid the use of toxic, expensive, and often ineffective medication. In my experience, use of the Bioptron reduces healing time by at least half. Before you buy a phototherapy device, however, do your homework. There is a lot of information about phototherapy on the Web, and many devices are available in a range of prices. Different colors of light have different effects and tissue absorption spectra. For example, red and infrared LED phototherapy devices are excellent for promoting blood flow, healing, and pain reduction. Blue LED devices (be careful where you point them--intense blue light can damage the retina) also promote healing, but--equally important--have been proven in scientific studies to kill pathogenic bacteria, even MRSA.There are also laser-based systems. However, they tend to be more expensive and involve more stringent safety procedures. Some are available for use by laymen, but others are available only to health care practitioners.Amazon sells two other phototherapy devices that I also use: the LightStim for Pain LightStim for Pain and the Light Relief Infrared Pain Relief Device Light Relief Infrared Pain Relief Device. Those two, and the Bioptron, are all excellent for healing. If you follow the operating instructions, they are safe, effective, and non-invasive.The Bioptron uses a halogen bulb, so you don't want to drop it too much. The LightStim for Pain uses LEDs mounted in a wand-type form factor that is, along with its wiring, very robust. Please note that there are two other LightStim models for other applications—LightStim for Wrinkles and LightStim for Acne--which use different LED color profiles. The Light Relief Infrared Pain Relief Device uses LEDs in a pad (a larger pad is also available). I have owned three of them and found that it is an excellent healing device, but you have to be careful with bending the pad or leaning on it too severely, because doing that can cause a short in the pad's internal circuitry, with resulting loss of function of some of the LEDs. It is still a worthwhile device, however. Many doctors don't know much about phototherapy and are often not interested. So, you have to be your own advocate and use it to your own advantage, even if others don't understand the concept, discredit its efficacy, or try to discourage you from using the device because they think it is “hooey.” The devices can be expensive, but they can be cheaper in the long run compared the cost of multiple, more invasive--and sometimes less effective--conventional treatments. Plus, they have fewer side effects than conventional medications.
