Awesome Light !! ProTac HL3
Awesome flashlight. I have quite a few ultrafire, sure fire, lingsfire you name it lights. I use them for hunting, fishing, camping and any other general use for a flashlight. For Bowfishint there is no comparison. It pierces through the muddy Ohio River like nothing ! I wish I took pictures! I have a lingsfire 350L green huntjng light that reaches about 350 yards. This ProTac HL3 blows it out of the water. Its many times brighter then that light. Seems to be every bit of 1100 lumen. All my other lights can't compare. It gets warm with prolonged use. It is waterproof because I dropped it in the river on the shoreline and it still functions. The whole design and quality is way higher then the other lights I have. The caps thread on nice and smooth the button functions very well. I didn't exactly time it but the Duracell 123 batteries it came with lasted the entire weekend camping and I used it a lot. Half of the time was just playing with it because it's so amazingly bright. I used my range finder to prove the distance it went, it may go father but that was just the distance across the river. The strobe setting would disorient your local thief very well. Worth the money highly recommended. Andrew H

Portable Sun, but not necessarily a good thing
I picked this up just before Christmas on a Lightning deal on a whim. I already have a Stinger LED, an old-school Stinger converted to a Lite Pipe, and Protac 2AA, so I have no practical use for this thing, but i'm an admitted flashaholic, so whatevers. The first time I turned this thing on, it immediately caused a giggle fit. In broad daylight it was enough to blind me off the reflection from the hardwood floor. GOOD: It's bright. Really bright. Insanely bright. Easily reaches several hundred feet. My other flashlights can blind, but I believe this thing could actually kill someone. Five stars just for how stupid bright it is. BAD: Everything else. It's too bright to use in any kind of up close work except on low power. Any reflection off a shiny surface blinds you. I'm honestly afraid it might hurt someones eyes. The pocket clip is pointless, the head is as big as the stinger led, there's no way you could stick it in a normal human pocket. It takes uncommon CR123 camera batteries, which are like $2 each. If you want a pocket flashlight go with one of the smaller Protacs. My 2AA is plenty bright enough for any task, it fits in my pocket, runs for a month with heavy use, and is a bit cheaper. If you want a bright, outdoorsy light, look into the HP series. If you want something to signal Mars, or burn the flesh off a vampire at 1000 yards, get a HL-3. For me, i'll keep it in the glovebox of my car as an emergency light. It was worth my money for the LOL factor alone.

VERY BRIGHT, strobe effect is perfectly disorienting
This is the brightest hand sized tactical flashlight I've ever seen. It is expensive, but is well worth it. This is a great tool for home security/inspection, as it blindly lights up any room. As a strobe effect, it will easily disorient any intruder in your home. It's so bright that looking at the light on the floor is enough to cause slight temporary blindness in your own eyes. In lower power mode, its still very bright, probably as good as any normal flashlight, but obviously using much less power. The only downside is that I've had to replace the batteries sooner than I expected. I don't have an idea of lifetime, but I'd say that if you left it on full power for about 90 minutes it would probably drain the batteries. The batteries are expensive (123A). Overall, I am very happy with it, and I just use it when needed, not for play.

Nice Flashlight
I almost gave this four stars because of the piece of paper they place in the battery tube with out any info that I could find. I want to thank the folks who responded to my question about this piece when it didn't work with the batteries included and brand new ones that I had. I had a hard time getting the "warning" info out of the tube after putting the batteries in a couple of times. I ended up using a bamboo skewer to get it out. There should be some warning that the paper is in the tube because I have never had this problem with any of the lights I have owned through the years. Now, the light puts out a ton of light and illuminates the woods behind my house. It's light and compact with a nice sturdy clip and holster. I thought it was a nice touch to include three CR123 batteries, too. Nice flashlight!!

Seems like a true American spec 1100 lumen Compared with Surefire ...
Protac HL3, definitely NOT a chinese spec 1100 lumen. Seems like a true American spec 1100 lumen Compared with Surefire Fury 2 (500 lumen) which is known to be company advertise with true spec. This is A LOT brighter, not by a margin but A LOT brighter. Good size on the hot spot and nice spill, super bright white that illuminate area that the fury 2 can only barely reach. Pretty decent build and solid body. Cons: Beam pattern/focus is not adjustable. Casing seems a tad behind Surefire, is still very nice, just a tad not as thick, no big deal. Button doesn't feels as solid as surefire, that I can't tell if it will be a problem yet. Still solid, just not as solid as Surefire. Pros: Is $100 cheaper than Surefire If you hate Chiese fake spec, you won't be disappointed. Super Bright and light up far and wide with good hot spot. Solid build If you frustrated with all the chinese spec 1000lumen and don't want to spend an arm and leg, this is your best choice. Is a very nice product with reasonable price.

A mistake I made buying this - over priced and low quality build and finish. Tail cap switch switches on with slightest touch or knock and coating is not very well done. This flashlight does not feel like quality. It feels like cheaply-made junk. Tail switch feels awful and feels like it will wear very quickly. Resembles Wolfeye flashlights I purchased and gave away. First and last Streamlight I will buy. Fenix, Nitecore, Thrunite, Olight, Zebralight and others make MUCH better flashlights. The cost of this is ridiculous for what it is and I don't know how it is justified. This is another flashlight I will give away. I thought Streamlight made better lights...You can pay less and get much better flashlights.
