These are the greatest knives I have used while hunting. They are very sharp and cut through hides with ease. I have used them on deer, bear and moose and they work great!

Love these for skinning game. I have cut myself badly once. They are not super durable when cutting heavy hide, but the blades are easy to change. They make skinning easier.

I have plenty of fixed blade knives and really thought I could get my knives sharp until I used a Havalon knife. Used a havalon bolt for the first time when I was invited to help with harvesting 100 chickens. I did manage to break a blade early on but once I learned to let the knife do the work I was amazed at the ease of use. Actually using the havalon bolt increased my precision with my larger fixed blade knives. The replacement blade are reasonably priced and will stay as sharp or sharper than my fixed blade knives after processing 50 or 60 birds. I found that I needed to work through the joints instead of brute force cutting. The joints seemed to dull the blades faster which is understandable. Once I learned the correct techniques I had no issues with the blade longevity. Havalon has revolutionized the way I use a knife in the field and kitchen.
