Mount a Zoom recorder on it why not
Smallrig is definitely my favorite accessory company. I use this to attach to the side of my BMPCC4K cage on the right side so that I can attach a Zoom recorder. Having extra hands is something I'm not always afforded, so being able to attach many things on this cheese plate, even if it's not what it was intended for, is a godsend. Nice and sturdy, fits most of the standard layouts for smallrig rig stuff, and a nice cheap solution.

Multi-Purpose
I use this between a Velbon QR plate and my Tascam DR70D and Camera so I could extend the placement of the Rode SVMX microphone in front and below the camera, screwing the mic directly into one of the slots with a long 1/4" screw sold separately in the SmallRig 12 pack, which also gives you another allen wrench (good to have a spare to keep packed at all times to tighten up the rig before a day of shooting). This was a much cheaper and lighter weight alternative than getting a rail system because the 10 slots are located well to position any gear going on top, not to mention I got tired of the Rode loosening and almost falling out of the cold shoe on multiple occasions, it's always better to screw them fast when you can and now it's isolated for wind vibrations too. I understand this is completely different use than what the plate was designed, but if it works, it works! Very sturdy and plenty of 1/4" and 3/8" holes and allen wrench provided. The paint scratches very easily so be careful.

It's Full of Holes!
This thing is exactly what I expected. It appears to be made of anodized aluminum and is well constructed.

Great plate
This plate is a permanent fixture on my Ursa. At this point Blackmagic should take a hint and just include a plate on the top of their cameras. I’ve used the plate to attach a handgrip, 15mm rail clamp, and to strap cables down. Love the side 1/4 inserts for added versatility.

There are many varieties of holes for various accessories. I am happy. You will also be happy. Just buy one. You will never know when you need a cheese plate. Immaculate Design!
At first I thought I wasted money on something I didn't need but then when putting my rig together realized I needed a way to elevate a 15mm rod to my lense so I can use my wireless follow focus this item came in clutch. And really well made I mean this part is immaculately designed. I knew I loved smallrig when I got my camera cage from them and this solidifies that.
