Excellent drone for the newly initiated in the quadcopter-lifestyle. Durable and extremely forgiving, this drone has tons of features that you are not going to find in competing products at this price point. I spent approximately 30 hours researching the best drone for under $100 and this was the winner hands down. High definition photo and video? Check. Extra parts and batteries? Check. Altitude hold and live view? Check. Ability to control drone via your smartphone? Check. Many of the other drone options on Amazon boast half these features but run well north of $100.In my experience of playing with the drone over the span of several weeks, I've found it to be extremely stable, fast and very responsive. I would say that if you are not experienced in flying drones that it can make for a very "twitchy" experience at first. However, for the true drone neophyte, there is an option to make the drone fly less aggressively by adjusting the drone's input sensitivity via a button on the remote until you get the hang of things.If I HAD to find fault with this drone, it would have to be the charging time to recharge a battery. It took me approximately 90 minutes to go from a dead battery to fully charged using a wall outlet smartphone charger and provided USB charging cable. Of course, waiting for dead batteries to recharge can be mitigated or entirely avoided by purchasing additional spare batteries for a nominal investment. It would also be nice if the batteries that came with this drone were "smart" batteries, in that they have over-charge protection so you didn't damage the battery after it is fully charged.Last thing to mention is the terrific customer service and support I received after the sale. I contacted the seller (QS LLC) regarding a broken battery cover -- one of the little plastic "feet" had broken off the cover when I went to replace the battery. After speaking with Mike, he had a replacement cover shipped out to me at no charge within three days of reaching out to his company. Like I mentioned earlier, there are a TON of drone options for sale on Amazon for under $100, but not one with as many features as this Quadcopter and backed with superior customer service.

This drone is amazing! Very easy to fly and lots of fun, especially at night with the cool lights!

I bought this as an anniversary gift for my husband and at first it seemed like it was a bust. The directions are not the best so I went online trying to find more information on how to get it working and here’s what I figured out (I wish this information had been in the instructions!) Also, keep in mind that I’m no expert on these flying things; I just have an engineering background and guessed at most of this but have had success so far!First Step is turning on the drone: the “on” button for the drone is not easy to find and the instructions just say “turn on the drone;” the “on” button is on the bottom of the unit underneath where you would have put the camera.Second Step is getting it to fly: when we first set up our drone it was on the grass. We tried to get it to lift but it would only fly in a lateral direction… we couldn’t even get it above our heads! But after lots of efforts here’s some advice on how to get it to fly.1. After you turn on the drone, make sure the drone is on a super level surface so that the gyroscopes can properly calibrate.2. Once you turn on the “On” switch, the lights on the drone will flash slowly. This means it’s looking to connect to either a phone with the QCopter app or the remote control… The first time, just let it connect to the remote control.3. Next, turn on the remote control; the lights on the remote control will flash saying that it’s looking to arm the drone.4. Now push the right toggle switch to the up position, then the down position to pair the drone with the remote control. The lights on the drone should flash faster now. This means it’s trying to calibrate the gyroscopes inside the drone (thus this is why it needs to be on a super-flat surface; the more level the surface the better the drone will fly.5. Now this period of time passes very quick so you need to have the drone already on a level surface and read ahead or you will miss this key step and your drone will fly all wonky.6. According to the manual the next step is to place AND HOLD the right toggle switch in the bottom left corner AND HOLD the left toggle switch in the bottom right corner until the lights on the drone turn solid. I don’t know if you really need to do this because the lights on the drone flash really fast for like 5 seconds and then automagically the lights turn solid like the drone is ready to fly. I have read online that during this “flashing light period” some drones will automatically calculate the gyroscopes with or without input from the remote control. Still not sure, but I always use the remote control to calibrate the gyros just in case.7. After this, it should go up nicely and work great. However, if your like us, after a number of hits the gyros could not determine what was up and what was down. So you need to RECALIBRATE THE GYROS again. Unless, you kind of have some electrical knowledge you might not have figured this out because the manual does not tell you exactly how to recalibrate them. But so far, here’s how…TO RECALIBRATE THE GYROSCOPES:1. Turn off the drone and unplug the battery (or change out the battery if it needs a charge).2. Wait about 10 seconds, plug in the battery, turn on the drone and place the drone on a super-flat surface. The lights on the drone should flash slowly.Just a note… Remember the next step and the following step happen fast so make sure to read the next two steps beforehand, that way you’re able to do them quickly or else you’ll have to unplug the battery and do this again.3. Turn on the remote control and push the right toggle switch up then down to arm (or pair) the drone. The lights on the drone should flash quickly. During this period put the right toggle switch in the bottom left corner and the left toggle switch in the bottom right corner and hold them there until the lights go solid on the drone.If you followed all these steps the drone should have properly paired and calibrated. Now your drone should lift up great. If it doesn’t you’ll need to unplug the battery and do all these steps over again.As a note, sometimes if you do these steps too many times in a row, the remote control will not pair with the drone; meaning after you push the right toggle switch up and then down on the remote control, the drone lights never go solid. No worries, turn off the drone (and the remote control), take out the drone’s battery and wait 10-15 mins. This should be enough time for everything in the drone to reset and it should pair again. If not repeat this step and wait like 20-30 mins and try again.That’s all my advice for you guys. Wish I had someone to tell me all this in the beginning. i love this drone. its perfect. if things go wrong parts are easy to replace. but its hard to brake alot of thing on it unless your flying somewhere in a city or near obstacles like power lines and close together trees but if your good you can with ease. controlling this drone is so easy and on quick mode its so fun and whips around quick. cameras grate but i just have fun flying it bring it up high nd zooming it back it stope super quick and will take off with flick of throttle. the colors are so dope. its way to stable i can let it float in the air and set the controller down and just step back and not panic about losing it.all aroung grate. 5 stars if your not sure what to start off with or you want a grate drone just to have fun with i highly recommend this one.
